Tomb of the Unknown Soldier disrespect not tolerated
November 20, 2012 By: Scott Paulson
Taking the expression some people just dont think! to a new level, Lindsey Stone thought she was being funny when she posted a picture of herself giving the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery "the finger" - the middle finger - while appearing to shout at the national memorial in October. After posting the pic to Facebook, somehow thinking her friends would enjoy the photo, she most definitely found out otherwise. As of Monday, the backlash has been severe for Stone.
Veterans Day: Top Ten Patriotic Songs
After the tremendously negative reaction to the photo, she Facebook-messaged on October 20:

She typifies the ugly inside-and-out sort of leftist garbage that would be expected to behave this way. I hope she’s fired for this. She’s a piece of human debris with no respect for the men who’ve laid down their life for her “right” to do this.

Note to Lindsey. Being a “douchebag” has consequences. It is truly disturbing that this being works with people with disabilities. Is she a “douchebag” with them, too?
To: DBrow
Both she and the photographer are on unpaid leave while their employer investigates. They were on an employer-sponsored trip!

Just imagine the kind of person who makes a flippant and obscene gesture like that at someone who gave his life so she could run around being an obnoxious jerk. What kind of poisonous atmosphere creates nitwits like this?

I see this breed in Madison all of the time, typically under 40 and single.
The idea is, if the perp thinks it’s funny, satirical or merely ironic, you have no reason to be offended.

From the story:
"In addition to Stone, the fellow-employee who took the picture is also on unpaid leave pending the results of an internal investigation at LIFE."

“It was just a joke”. The world’s oldest excuse when the perp finds out nobody else thinks she is funny, or cute, or smart.

"This is just us, being the douchebags that we are, challenging authority in general. Much like the pic posted the night before, of me smoking right next to a no smoking sing. OBVIOUSLY we meant NO disrespect to people that serve or have served our country. "
I'll bet Mz. Stone would be first in line to declare anyone who "challenged the authority" of Obama, to be a racist, sexist, homophobe.
But, to her credit she's right on the money with the "douchebag" self-evaluation, although it's probably an insult to douchebags everywhere.
