A new chart produced by Republicans staffers on the Senate Budget Committee shows food stamp enrollment continuing to increase even as the unemployment rate goes down.
From October 2009 to October 2012 the unemployment rate has declined from 10.2 percent to 7.9 percent. In that same time frame, nearly ten million new recipients have been added to the food stamp rolls, according to government data analyzed by the Republican committee staff.
Spending on the food stamp program has increased every single year since 2000, and a record number of individuals now receive the benefit. For instance, food stamp enrollment has climbed by nearly 10 million individuals since October 2009 but the unemployment rate declined 2 percentage points from its peak level over that time, the Republican Budget Committee staff explained in a statement.

Since the creation of the good-as-cash EBT’s, you KNOW Food Stamps will increase in takers.....couple that with the REAL un-employment rate, and it’s a no-brainer.
Well, if yer not gonna do it, please tell me how to get the paperwork and what docs I'll need.

Can’t speak for Florida, but in California you can download the form as a PDF, fill it in and print out a copy.
They want copies of utility bills to justify offsetting any income.
The paperwork part is fairly painless, or would have been if a friend of mine hadn’t left me her shredder when she died last month. I, of course, had promptly shredded all my old bills...
I’ll let you know if there are any surprises when I go in, probably tomorrow morning before I’ve had a chance to over think it.
Took about three hours to get the initial processing, need to provide a pile of documents for the follow-up appointment in mid-December.
Apparently, renting out a room makes me “self-employed”, need forms for that. I need birth certificates, tax returns, ID. Also car registrations, social security cards, utility bills.
They decided I should apply for MediCal, there’s a 14 page form that goes with that...
