I am wondering about the structure of a third "Constitutional" party. Would it be better to form a party exclusively on a fiscal issues basis? What would be the pros and cons of taking social issues completely off the table? I mean, are there really enough "social issues" in the text of the Constitution itself to warrant making them a permanent policy of a new party and subsequently risking vicious debate and division? I guess I am thinking of the inevitability of Conservatives locking antlers with the "socially" left wing of the Libertarians", who are otherwise fiscally right wing. Shouldn't social issues be contained closer to the people, i.e., at the state/local levels?
I understand fully. I too am much closer to SoCon than Liberal, by miles.
I view it all as biology. We are all K-selected overall, even if we vary on the details. As a result, we can embrace a K-position, such as dislike for abortion more easily than SoCons can accept an r-position, such as tolerance for abuse of what they view as a child. Likewise, a Conservative should find it easier to sacrifice a desire for gun control, than we would find it to give up our guns.
My whole goal is to keep the leftists at bay, which I think needs to be everyone’s goal, at this point. The best way I see is a relgious SoCon who dislikes government authority.
I do think you are a troll and do not belong here. The moderators have their own standards and do not seem to follow their own published guidelines.

So the short answer seems to be that trolls like you are allowed to pollute Free Republic until you piss off the owner at some point. Trolls like you have been given a green light to troll this website. I do not pretend to understand it.
By JimRob’s definition, you are not a conservative. Apparently conservatism is strong enough to put up with trolls like you who stab social conservatism in the back. I think that at the very least, we should have an ideological matrix so that others can see that you aren’t conservative at a glance, rather than having to drill down 700 posts.
From my home page.

I would like to see an idealogy litmus matrix here on Free Republic, but when I proposed it to Jimrob, he called me a newbie.

To: babygene I dont think hes all that interested.
To: MHGinTN It doesnt matter what a FReeper thinks. Its just a list that they tell us what they think. That way we can tell who were dealing with.

To: Jim Robinson Hah hah, thats great. I signed up 2 months after you and Im a newbie. Back then no one even said, Welcome to FR. But yeah, I do think that there are tons of RINOs. To be more accurate, the term would be CINOs.
Ive been pushing for an idealogical litmus matrix here on FR, not to get rid of RINOs but to expose them.
THE GOP DOESNT WANT US- SO WHATS NEXT?

***It simply takes too long. Look at this thread alone. I see evidence of RINOism in some of the FReepers on this thread. It takes 700 posts to drill down. We need the matrix posted and available so that we dont have to drill down on every FReeping thread. Theyre wasting our time. Deliberately.
Agreed to a large degree. Perhaps a way to rate members by other members???

LOL, gosh, don’t cry, I didn’t even realize that you were upset.
Maybe that was your guilt leaking out, being socially liberal does carry a conscience penalty.
This is where I’m supposed to get mad and say something intemperate. Seen it. About a million times.
Well then you and the moderators have a difference opinion. One of you is wrong, and I don't think it's them.
Well, Troll, you have a green light to spread your anti-conservative viewpoints on this forum. Many who have shared your viewpoints in the past have eventually gotten the permanent zot. And when your cohorts got theirs, it was a way of saying that they did not belong here. It’s basically a matter of time before you get yours.
This is where Im supposed to get mad and say something intemperate. Seen it. About a million times.
***An admission that your purpose is to troll. At least you are a well-disciplined troll.
How many times do you try to push some buttons and not get the expected result before you figure out it doesn’t work like you thought it did?
You’ve had plenty of cohorts who’ve been zotted. The button works sometimes. The reason it doesn’t work for getting you zotted is that you’re a well-disciplined troll. Eventually, though, you end up in a conversation with the boss on some thread and he zots you if we’re lucky. You’re a smart one, though, and would likely backtrack in any conversation with JimRob so that you can continue pushing your anti-conservative views on this conservative website, like any other troll. Standard kissup/kickdown trolling strategy. It works for you. But just think with your tacticalogic brain, do any lurkers who followed your line of reasoning & found it interesting up until now, do they think you are a conservative with opinions worth following? Or does the light come on and they realize you’re just a troll? Your trolling efforts are countered, one thread at a time. So go ahead, put forth your best proposals on this thread, we’ll see if they get any reception now that everyone knows you’re simply a troll.
As a fairly hardcore conservative libertarian, I can tell you that's untrue.
Except that it is true.
Here is the leftists agenda hidden behind the Libertarian Party curtain.
Libertarian Party Platform:
Throw open the borders completely; only a rare individual (terrorist, disease carrier etc.) can be kept from freedom of movement through political boundaries.
Homosexuals; total freedom in the military, gay marriage, adoption, child custody and everything else.
Abortion; zero restrictions or impediments.
Pornography; no restraint, no restrictions.
Drugs; Meth, Heroin, Crack, and anything new that science can come up with, zero restrictions.
Advertising those drugs, prostitution, and pornography; zero restrictions.
Military Strength; minimal capabilities.
Well, the big-L Libertarian Party is a mixed bag. I meant actual libertarians.
I think the moderators are smarter than that.
The actual libertarians are the ones who formed a party to make their childish fantasies face political and human reality.
And yet, your actions speak otherwise. So go ahead, put forth your best proposals on this thread, well see if they get any reception now that everyone knows youre simply a troll.
What do you say we start with overturning Wickard v Filburn?
I had some good, productive conversations with some reasonable people before you got here, and trying to push my buttons and piss me off still isn't going to get you the results you want.
I had some good, productive conversations with some reasonable people before you got here,
***Now that those reasonable people know that you’re a troll, perhaps you should re-ping them to see how their viewpoint might have changed.
That ship has sailed. The thread started yesterday morning, and you didn't get here in time to try to turn it into a pissing match before people got to have a converstation.
there are some people, using the term “people” loosely you understand, who have no other tool in their tiny box rather to whine “troll” with whom they disagree. Facts, ideas, truth, etc. are just a little too complicated for some foot-stompers.
