Wal-Mart is taking legal action against its organized labor opponents, filing an unfair labor practice charge over widespread protests at its stores across the country as well as rallies planned for Black Friday, considered the biggest shopping day of the year.
The company filed a complaint on Friday against the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, claiming the labor union one of the nation's largest has unlawfully disrupted business by staging protests at Wal-Mart's stores and warehouses around the country over the past six months.
The retail giant, which has roughly 1.3 million U.S. workers, is asking the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for an injunction against the rallies and pickets even flash mobs that have sprung up at stores nationwide, according to the Wall Street Journal.
"We are taking this action now because we cannot allow the UFCW to continue to intentionally seek to create an environment that could directly and adversely impact our customers and associates," Wal-Mart spokesman David Tovar said in a statement obtained by Reuters. "If they do, they will be held accountable."

Screw you pal. If you had a clue I'd bother to debate you but it's obvious you don't.
So you must be a Liberal, out of ideas so the name calling begins.
Not only clueless but irony impaired too, I see. Stick to arguing with your kids, that's more your speed.
Am I the only one who thinks that Walmart, and all the other stores, are destroying Thanksgiving? All of these retail workers are taken away from their families to work through the night for Black Friday. FedEx has ads for Christmas delivery now. All their drivers and package handlers are going to have to work on Christmas morning so people can get their late-mailed trinkets.
Sunday shopping was bad enough but this stuff is getting out of hand.
Suspicions confirmed! Ah Ha!
Where I live, the local news showed people already camped out for Black Friday (Thursday). They’ve been there since last Friday. If they nerd a bath or a bite to eat, they have people to hold their place for them. It’s insane.
I haven’t shopped on Black Friday in years. In fact, I don’t go near a retailer (except the supermarket or pharmacy) from now till about January 5. I don’t shop for Christmas anymore. It’s too expensive and it tarnishes the true meaning of the holidays.
No, I feel the same way. I am VERY against places opening for shopping on what used to be a time for families only. Yes, I know that some people have to work (in my high school, college and grad school days, I worked nearly every holiday), but shopping for Christmas isn’t a good reason. Now - if I worked at Walmart and it came down to keeping my job, I would work, but ...

***Walmart has done away with the people greeter. ***
They have been moved farther inside the store, but they are still there.
“Am I any better off buying my shooting supplies at Dick’s, my auto supplies at Autozone or the rest of the stuff at Kmart, or Target, or wherever?”
In my case, I buy my auto stuff at Autozone instead of Walmart because Autozone is within walking distance of my house. Of course I know this doesn’t apply to most of us...
At the Walmart near my house, for some reason the “greeters” are stationed at the exit. Go figure...
True enough but Wal Mart is nearly 100% a chinese junk shop. They're the ones who really planted the chinese flag here and for a company that represents 2% of the GNP, they're place in the market swamps all the rest that you listed...combined.
If you want to shop at Walmart, be my guest. I'm forced to go there occaisionally, and I hate every second I'm there. (yes forced...I'm 30 years married and have learned to sometimes just do what I'm told) But don't pretend that they're some great bastion of free market conservative values. They're not.
I just bought a nice gift for my adult daughter at Walmart. Made in USA.
They're doing their part but it's nothing compared to the part that the idiot shoppers who show up days in advance and camp oiuyt of the sidewalks. Truth is, too many people care more about getting an extra 5-10% off some piece of electronic crap that nobody really needs than they do about spending time with their families, honoring national traditions and customs and praising God. It's a real shame. I pity the fools who do this and I feel embarrassed by them and for them every year.
Too bad. Many of the seniors hired by wal-mart as greeters were courteous and helpful. Manners seem to be disappearing.
Wal-Mart can fold, for all I care - after donating to B.O. campaign....
going Galt...
shrugging
DIY
barter
There is plenty of blame to go around. I for one will not be a part of an of it.
If I was buying, say, a fancy party dress, yes, I'll buy that at an upscale store. But why should I pay a hundred dollars for some designer jeans at a department store when I can buy a decent pair of no name jeans at Walmart or some place similar? Jeans are jeans. I don't need a designer name emblazoned on my posterior.
Until the government starts telling us where to shop, I'm not boycotting Walmart or anyone else.
