Nearly 100 House Republicans on Monday called on President Obama not to nominate Susan Rice as Secretary of State.
In a letter to Obama, the 97 Republicans said the credibility of the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations has been gravely wounded by her account of the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
"Though Ambassador Rice has been our Representative to the U.N., we believe her misleading statements over the days and weeks following the attack on our embassy in Libya that led to the deaths of Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans caused irreparable damage to her credibility both at home and around the world," Republicans wrote in their letter, which was led by Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.) and sent to Obama Monday. Stevens and the three others were killed in an attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi.
The letter says Rice "propagated a falsehood" that the attacks were a spontaneous response to a video that depicted the Prophet Muhammed.

I'm not convinced they're different people. Have you ever SEEN Condi Rice and Susan Rice in the same room together? Nope.
From Obama's socialist viewpoint, that is a virtual endorsement in favor of Rice. Obama's sheltering of Rice is like acknowledging she is inferior and unable to compete on her own.
Why do I get the nagging suspicion that the republicans have been set up and now Obama will be free and clear to nominate somebody far worse...
That ought to ensure her nomination...
It’s really Obama in charge of all the offices; who sits in the desks is meaningless. No one dares breathe without his consent.
Moochie likes to travel the world on the taxpayers dime.
I wish I was kidding.....
And of course, if they hadn’t, there would be weeping and lamentations about how they should have.
Thanks SeekAndFind.
Them signing this letter is almost as meaningful and as much of a waste of time as the people signing the secession petitions on the White House website.......
Did they petition on whitehouse.gov?
Assuming Rice did not knowingly lie (I said assumingly stand down), if Rice had any honor, she would resign rather than work for people who set her up to do such a dishonorable traitorous thing.
Now he’ll do it out of spite.
Just as Condelissa Rice was unqualified to be sec of state, this other Rice academic is equally unqualified. Probably more so, at least Rice had been a National Sec Advisor. Susan Rice is not too long removed from the liberal classrooms.
Not sure this is a smart move. In the first place, the House doesn’t have a vote on Cabinet nominations. Secondly, it is like waiving a red flag in front of Obama’s nose. This kind of tactic probably would make Obama want to nominate her more.
The 97 were all members of the House of Representatives.
Are you assuming every House member is a GOP-E?
If so, not true, a lot of them are Tea Party.
241 Republicans in the House and only 97 are willing to put their names to this letter? On such a clear-cut issue, that’s pathetic.
My question: where were the rest of the "Republicans"?????????
