Tens of thousands of New Jersey residents are without power. Many have lost homes and everything else that they have. Some don’t have enough to eat and others are struggling to stay warm.
This is not the time for a responsible leader to go do his self-promoting shtick on Saturday Night Live. But Christie seems so tone deaf that he puts his self-promotion ahead of anything else.

Like many other RINOS (McCain being the classic example), he doesn't realize he's become the media's useful idiot. He enjoys the praise and thinks it means he's won them over. He fails to recognize that, as soon as he's no longer useful (or has to run against an actual Democrat), he will be relegated to their scrap heap and back to being hated and reviled.
Could be....however, I think a more obvious explanation is the attempt to diminish the fat guy's standing in the Republican Party. The Vice President gets a pass on just about all his foot in mouth events....Obama, on his trip to Burma, manhandles and mispronounced the name of Aung San Suu Kyi, the Nobel laureate and former political prisoner who has led the struggle for a free and democratic Burma. Obama also botched the name of his official host, Burma’s reformist new president, Thein Sein. Write down how many times you read about that as opposed to how many time Chris Cristie's name makes the Mainstream news.

Nothing new. In fact, Rudy Giuliani did about the same thing following 9/11 on Saturday Night Live as well. I guess they’re both similar politicians.
SNL is the Liberals’ rubber stamp of ‘cool’.
If it ever meant anything (with ME, it never did) it doesn’t matter any more.
Once you routinely reduce life and human issues to a one dimensional, homogeneous slurry of puerile idiocy, your reason for being just went out the window!
I guess that’s the level of comprehension for the SNL audience and unfortunately, American voters.
