Romney Adviser: We Lost Because Far Right Has Taken Party to Place It Doesn’t Belong
Gateway Pundit ^ | November 18, 2012 | Jim Hoft

Carlos Gutierrez, adviser to Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, said Sunday he was “shocked” by Romney’s comments this week on minorities.
“I think we lost the election because the far right of this party has taken the party to a place that it doesn’t belong.”

Ugh.

CNN reported:

In an interview set to air in full Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Candy Crowley, Gutierrez also sharply criticized Romney’s remarks made on a call Wednesday with donors following his loss in last week’s election. Romney explained his loss in part by pointing to “gifts” President Barack Obama gave to certain groups that turned out in high numbers.

Gutierrez, the former secretary of commerce, said he was “shocked” by Romney’s comments.

“I think we lost the election because the far right of this party has taken the party to a place that it doesn’t belong,” he said. “We are the party of prosperity, of growth, of tolerance. I mean these immigrants who come across and what they do wrong is they risk their lives, they come here and they work because they want to be part of the American Dream.”

“No, they left the president line blank and voted conservative the rest of the ballot. “

You are absolutely right. “Stayed home” is a euphemism. I know many people that voted for everything but the Prez ticket. They were very pissed that the Taxxachusetts governor could be the RNC candidate.

Tea Party candidates need to secure local offices and develop a good track record of responsible government. The lofty Federal offices will be much harder to attain. Play to current strengths and develop a proven record and some genuine political saavy first. IMHO.

“Voter fraud on the left was enormous and was not challenged.”

There was voter fraud last time, too, so the difference wouldn’t be that much but it was.

Although I don’t like to be called “Right Wing,” as it’s a Leftist (collectivist) construct, I am one who did not vote in the 2012 election.

It is clear that many Libertarian-conservatives are staying home, and will continue to stay at home until someone comes along who has the guts to espouse support of Natural Law, or true Libertarian-conservatism.

Let’s face it, Reagan was the anomaly. Every single presidential candidate who has followed him, and the ones who control the Republican Party are every bit the Big Government Leftists the Democrats are.

The only solution is dissolution of the Union, or secession, because the U.S. National (”Federal”) Government has grown so far beyond its Constitutional bounds that we all have become serfs. Those happy with that live in fairly isolated pockets of the country as it now stands. Let them all unite and live together. Let those who cherish FREEDOM have the opportunity to live in freedom.

Forget trying to fight at the federal level. The power to defeat these libs/RINOS is in the states.

Their ‘logic’ makes everything a tradeoff. They wanted to trade a potentially improving economy for things like more mainstreaming of the gay movement. easier access to govt funded abortion and the rest. Because regardless of what he said on the trail, Romney’s history on these matters is rock solid liberal.

And so tell me, what is it you have now?

You have all of what you mentioned plus a commie in the WH who is bent on starting WWIII

You think this can be turned around in one election with a "perfect candidate"?

Ain't going to happen, we didn't get to where we are over night.

The only turn about is going to be a monumental disaster on Biblical proportions, and that is the truth.

JRF:"I suppose there are a lot of weak sister like that here on FR."

Pfft, you'll be the first to hide behind a skirt as soon as the first shot is fired.

You're not paying attention, CT ... If 100 voted for mcinsane and 100 voted for Romney, but the fix made it appear 55 voted for Romney, it would appear less voted this time than last.

If 100 voted for mcinsane and 150 voted for Romney but only 55 were counted as such, ... same thing.

Do you personally know or know OF 20% fewer real voters that said, "Nahh .. Romney's a jerk, I ain't votin' for NO-one ... THAT'LL teach the pubbies" ???

“I think we lost the election because the far right of this party has taken the party to a place that it doesn’t belong,” says DNC mole.

"Don't offend the Loyalists of the Rat Party and its MSM," say the Republican Party's DNC moles. "Free speech.. imagine. Makes us want to puke. Freedom of the debate.. humph. Don't listen to bigots like Patrick Henry. Imagine how offensive this is to the victims of America."

The questing before [you] is one of awful moment to this country . . . in proportion to the magnitude of the subject [there must] be the freedom of the debate. It is only in this way that [you] can hope to arrive at truth . . . whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, [you must be] willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.

All anti-conservatives can do is scream RACIST! They're making the "crisis" much worse than it need be -- our two Americas "will not cease until a crisis shall have been reached and passed." Let's get it over with by dialogue before it's too late.

If 100 voted for McCain in 2008 and then 8 died by 2012, and Romney got 92, then no one failed to show up.

I understand feeling the need to start a new party, but there are already 3rd, and 4th parties out there that cater to conservative/libertarian interests.

The reality is the ballot box is never going to fix the mess we have now.

“You’re not paying attention”

You’re the one not getting it: There was massive voter fraud last time, too. Are you so new to this that you think this was the first election with massive voter fraud? In some States there was probably less fraud than last time, Colorado being one of them.

“If 100 voted for McCain in 2008 and then 8 died by 2012, and Romney got 92, then no one failed to show up.”

Which probably actually happened. However, I base my lack of votes on the number of registered Republicans versus votes cast. That tally showed less participation in the prez election. They might have voted on other issues but they seemed to have withheld their prez nomination.

you'll be the first to hide behind a skirt as soon as the first shot is fired.

That's pretty close to a personal attack. Are you calling me a coward?

Lots of people were here on FR right after 9/11, when I re-enlisted after an 18 year break in service and did my service. You weren't on FR then.

Jim changed my screen name because my old screen-name had opsec implications.

You might tread lightly when you call someone you don't know a coward.

I'll take whatever happens.

What I won't do is compromise my personal integrity.

“And here they are blaming people like us for not going along with them. Because we are not willing to trade our morals and principles. I am perfectly comfortable going to bed at night unwilling to sell out my soul.”

I, like you, was called many disgusting names for not voting for a liberal and I knew they would blame us for Romney's defeat. I knew he was defeated before he started - no liberal R can win against a D.

It did irritate me that the mods, after the forum became Romney land, did not react, remove, those terrible names they called us. “Traitor” was one of them. However, I will resist the RINOs on here that act like Democrats when they call us disgusting names.

And, on this thread, they are continuing to dump on us with posts to you and JRandomFreeper. I'm sure they will vote for the next liberal R, too, going along with the GOPe.

I’m done. These guys sabotage the Tea Party, join the Dhimmicrats in ridiculing the Tea Party, help axe as many as do win as quickly as they can, kick Sarah Palin and Allen West to the curb, diss Romney for telling the truth, blabber about how they’re JUST LIKE THE DEMOCRATS, and then blame the Tea Party because they lost instead of the rampant voter fraud that will insure that Dhimmicrats will “win” every future election in the country when they can fully implement their plan in every state in the Union.
