The Republican Party has been doing a lot of hand-wringing and finger-pointing since the presidential election. Half the conservative columnists and bloggers say the GOP lost because it overemphasized social issues such as abortion and gay marriage. The other half says the party didn't emphasize them enough. And everyone denounces Project ORCA, the campaign's attempt to turn out voters via technology.
But I've got a suggestion for cutting short the GOP angst: Sarah Palin for president in 2016.
You think I'm joking? Think again.

I’m all for Sarah but I’m not sure the Republican party is any longer viable. She may be better off running on the Tea Party ticket.
Ok. You keep the media at bay so enough citizens can hear whoever the candidate is. After all, look at all the trashing Barry got, it’s amazing how he won!/s
You get it. Palin is a joke, but even if she wasn’t, it wouldn’t matter. The Statists have won. They now have more parasites than producers, and in 2016 there will be even more people leeching off the producers who will just vote themselves more free stuff. I have tuned out Limbaugh, Levin, and that moron Hannity who have all said “just wait till 2016! That will be our year!” Yeah, right. Its over. The Republic died in 2008, and it was confirmed dead last week. We are going to be a socialist nanny state. Get used to it. Put on your shackles because there is no going back.
God bless Sarah, but I fear she doesn’t have the temperament to withstand the political torture that comes at a national level. And I’m not even pointing to where she got hounded out of office, a truly bizarre fluke of circumstance and dysfunctional Alaskan law making that possible. But she wouldn’t put her hat in the ring. Sarah, had she stood up to the attacks we CAN’T see, would then almost certainly have ripped Obama from pillar to post and gotten much more voter passion than Mitt did.
I have any number of reasons to not like him politically, but I have come to the conclusion that on a personal level he is a decent and good man.
I don't think he sent his minions out to attack the tea party. They already didn't like us, and they were drawn to him because he was evidently the farthest from being us. In the end I came to the conclusion that I liked Romney as a human being. Its the romniac Rinos I detest.
[ You get it. Palin is a joke, but even if she wasnt, it wouldnt matter. The Statists have won. ]
WRONG... Palin is not a joke.. She is trying to give hope to remaining conservatives..
You are being simplistic.. stop it.. She “gits it”..
YOU may not get it.. except partially..
In November 2016 Sarah Palin will continue to have more quality executive experience that either Barack Obama or Joe Biden.
She has to try.
Please, PLEASE don’t tell me you’re comparing Sarah Palin to one of the most infamous mass-murderers of the 20th century.
And no, people who admire her are NOT cult members.
She’d do very well on an advisory committee. Unless she really does want to toss her camo cap into that ring in four years.
No, I guess I was comparing your call to rally around Sarah Palin as the same type of suicide call that Jones put out in Jonestown. Go ahead and drink the Kool Aid. I’ll have no part of it.
I can tell you that in Oklahoma, Sara Palin engendered actual excitement in 2008. The only people I know excited about voting for Romney (and not merely against Obama) are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Sarah did none of those things. I don’t have time to go over each point, though it’s all been covered before.
Your criticism is MSM storyline, like quoting her saying she could see Russia from her porch.
That’s how it was in my corner of Texas. The GOP headquarters in 2008 was perpetually empty and had virtually no foot-traffic, but once Palin was announced, the place exploded with people and excitement. Palin tapped into something I hadn’t seen since Reagan’s days. Regular people finally felt they had someone who represented them, both ideologically and culturally.
What a non-surprise that the GOP-E sided with the Libs and their vile media minions to try to extinguish all that, with an endless smear campaign. Just like they did once again with the Tea Party.
Conservative populism from flyover country scares the HELL out the ruling-class elites. They’ll do absolutely anything to kill it, whenever it pops up.
“Conservative populism from flyover country scares the HELL out the ruling-class elites. Theyll do absolutely anything to kill it, whenever it pops up.”
I agree. The media elites have had some success limiting the Tea Party by portraying it as a uncool bunch of senile racists. Somehow using pop culture, conservatism has to be taught to the young to get around the liberalism that is public education.
Fine. Go on your merry way.
All I know is that the 2010 election cycle was the only time the GOP has gained ground in the Federal government since 2004. And it was also the only time Sarah Palin wasn’t muzzled by the Republican establishment.
Then go away. Seriously. Go away. Sarah Palin will be the go-to candidate/leader supported by a huge number on this forum and others like this and we don't need your negativism stinking up the place. That goes for all who deem it necessary to flock to every thread about Palin and vomit. Quit doing the marxist/leftists work for them.
