“5000 idiots cost another 13,000 people their jobs. Not to mention the jobs that will be lost in the surrounding communities.”

First of all: HELLO, CC! Still holdin’ down the conservative fort in MI? :)

Secondly, we had a string of a half-dozen calls on local
(The People’s Republik of Madistan) talk radio today telling of how they or a family member is directly impacted by this company closure. All the way up here in little old Wisconsin. Go figger!

If Hostess is smart, and the unions haven’t completely bled them dry of operating cash, why not start up with the same products (they OWN those trademarks, correct?) under a slightly different name as a NON-Union shop? I would, but then, I’m kinda vindictive that way, LOL!

We crushed the union ballot proposals on election day so that’s something.

I just read today that some 380 indirect jobs will be lost here in Michigan because of this idiocy.

The creditors of the company might have something to say about that....

Someone will buy those trademarks from the bankruptcy court and continue making Twinkies (and no doubt it will be in a non-union shop) but it won't be the present corporation or any of its owners.

hey diana let us know what is happening in Madistan, with many changes in employment going around the country how is Madistan holding up. There is the big bakery in Sun prairie just of 151. what about WPS in Madistan near the beltline? how is the state home for the developmentally disabled is it still open or what. It has been a few years since I have been back to the god forsaken place. when I graduated in early 2000, i fleed Madistan as fast as I could. worked for a time in Milwaukee area till i moved up to the UP of Michigan to have my own business.
