Leno: 'The Economy Is So Bad MSNBC Had To Lay Off 300 Obama Spokesmen' By Noel Sheppard Created 11/16/2012 - 9:40am
NBC Tonight Show host Jay Leno took a swipe at his own sister network and the President Thursday.
During his opening monologue, Leno said, "The economy is so bad MSNBC had to lay off 300 Obama spokesmen" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
JAY LENO: I tell you, Rickey, the economy is not good. It's not good at all.
RICKEY MINOR: How bad is it, Jay?
LENO: The stock market is going down faster than a general's biographer. It is terrible out there. Terrible out there. Terrible. [Applause]
The economy is so bad on the way to work I saw Phil Jackson holding a sign, Will coach for food. That's how bad. [Applause]
The economy is so bad James Bond switches from Heineken to Colt 45. That's how bad it's gotten. [Applause]
The economy is so bad Paula Broadwell is now being forced to sleep with only three star generals. Ugh! [Applause]
The economy is so bad MSNBC had to lay off 300 Obama spokesmen. That's how bad it's gotten.
The economy is so bad President Obama sent Susan Rice out to defend it. That's how bad the economy is.
The folks at Comcast, General Electric, and NBC must be sooooo proud of a division that is such a joke that one of their most-watched on air personalities makes fun of it on national television.
Let's hear it for leaning forward!
Were a Republican in office, the jokes would start months before, becoming ingrained into the popular culture. Wouldn't surprise me at all if mainstream media networks will now start to cover more closely--the economy, the impact of Obamacare, and who knows--maybe even Benghazi.
I remember puking my guts out after a six-pack of CHAMPALE..............
Go Leno!
As Leno was really hitting Obama on these things the past few months, I thought it was a sign that the American people were finally ‘getting it’ about the failures of the Obama administration on debt, deficit and spending. Typically the top tv comedians like a Leno or Carson are good barometers on public opinion. Clearly, the American people still don’t get it. At least 51% of them.
I think I drank some of that too!
Is he trying to get fired?
The economy is so bad my social security check was an IOU.
The economy is so bad the garbage collectors are dropping off food.
BTTT
Take a gander at bumwine.com in your idle time. The site is still up. Not only the drunk is described, but the ensuing hangover as well. LOL
The economy is so bad bank tellers are mugging bank robbers.
Nope, he will be a liberal to the day he dies. His wife is a rabid liberal. I don't think Leno is "rabid" like most on the left; it seems politics isn't a passion for him.
Leno is funny. Letterman is hateful.
Nah, he’s trying to become relevant.
Leno-”Both parties in Washington now agree that our country is headed toward a ‘fiscal cliff.’ The bad news: We just elected a guy whose campaign slogan was ‘Forward.’”
Leno = putz = not funny for decades
Letterman = pervert = just creapy = was he EVER funny???
.......Boone’s Farm Strawberry Hill.....
Now those were the good old days.
I’m going to ask for it the next time I buy my wife’s wine
I was at a party and Mexican food with hot peppers was being served. I drank ice cold Boone’s Farm Strawberry Hill to put out the fire. I drank so much that I fell “asleep” standing up at the kitchen sink. Honest to God!
I went with a friend to another party and the ladies weren’t too sure of me. I drank some Boone’s Farm Strawberry Hill and I soon had them laughing and having a good time. They liked me! They really liked me! No one gave me their phone number though.
Last time I drank Strawberry Hill, I woke up underneath a dumpster in downtown Tijuana in a puddle of my own puke, scratching myself with a dead rodent.
