In David Petraeus’s final days at the helm of the Central Intelligence Agency, his relations with chiefs of other U.S. agencies, including his boss, National Intelligence Director James Clapper, took a contentious turn.
At issue was whether the CIA should break its silence about its role in Benghazi, Libya, to counter criticism that increasingly was being leveled at the agency and Mr. Petraeus, said senior officials involved in the discussions.
Mr. Petraeus wanted his aides to push back hard and release their own timeline of the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi and a nearby CIA safe house, seeking to set the record straight and paint the CIA’s role in a more favorable light. Mr. Clapper and agencies including the Pentagon objected, but Mr. Petraeus told his aides to proceed, said the senior officials.
By all accounts, the driving force behind Mr. Petraeus’s departure last Friday was the revelation about his extramarital affair with his biographer. But new details about Mr. Petraeus’s last days at the CIA show the extent to which the Benghazi attacks created a climate of interagency finger-pointing. That undercut the retired four-star general’s backing within the Obama administration as he struggled with the decision to resign.

I mentioned before that I think all of this "investigation" after the FBI already cleared everyone is just a fishing expedition and intimidation. Petraeus isn't going to blink at threats against him, but, ObaMao has no problem "going full Chicago mob" on anyone Petraeus cares about. That may shut him up.

This is Obama’s potential Watergate moment. If Clinton reveals before Congress that, as the senior official that oversees diplomatic security, that she denied Stevens’ requests for extra security and that she, Holder, Patraeus and Obama watch drone footage for nearly seven hours as Stevens and his party were murdered and that these senior level Cabinet officials blocked AFRICOM Commander, General Hamm, and the Commander of Carrier Task Force 3, Admiral Gayouette from rescuing the Stevens contingent, and then had both men arrested when the tried to disobey orders and rescue Stevens in violation of these executive orders from Obama administration.
The gravity of these events are stunning! All of these senior officials, including the President, are implicated as accomplices in Stevens murder. This is criminally negligent homocide. This is first degree murder! And why did Stevens have to murdered? Stevens was murdered because he was running guns for the CIA to al-Qaeda operatives, first in Libya last year and in Syria this year.

Well, you gotta admit, it depends on what Petraeus’s actions are. We will have to see. I hope civilized society prevails.
As far as I can tell, at this point , anything Petraeus says to Congressional Committee will be behind closed door ( in camera hearing).The Senate Committee on Intelligence chaired by Diane Feinstein will be the committee he sees, but its really just for the leftists pols to see what Petraeus intends to say, like a discovery hearing.
He may or may not be in personal danger after the hearing.
Depends on how many beans he spills.
I think they are all just protecting their first “black” president. Even the RINOs are on board and protect him every chance they get. Lindsay and Juan McCain are feigning outrage to get the investigation under Senate control so they can protect the little weasel POTUS from the House.
Maybe they could not call in air support in the middle of the transfer of a lot of SAMs at Benghazi for instance, probably not a good idea.
