FBI Special Agent Frederick Humphries II played a key role in stopping a terrorist attack aimed at blowing up Los Angeles International Airport just as the year 2000 dawned. He fatally shot a man who threatened him and other law enforcement officers with a knife during an altercation at Tampa's MacDill Air Force Base in 2010.
And now Humphries finds himself in the middle of the widening scandal that has resulted in CIA Director David Petraeus' resignation.
Humphries, 47, was the agent who initially saw the emails the FBI said Petraeus' biographer and mistress, Paula Broadwell, sent to Tampa socialite Jill Kelley, a woman she apparently saw as a rival for Petraeus' affections. She also allegedly sent emails to Gen. John Allen, Kelley's friend and the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan.
Concerned about the emails, Kelley contacted Humphries in June. The two had met at a 2011 FBI Citizens Academy, a program aimed at teaching the public and journalists about what the agency does and how it operates. Kelley was in the class, which Humphries lectured one night about terrorism, according to Natalie Shepherd, a Tampa TV reporter who was there.
Humphries, a former Army captain who worked in military intelligence, thought the emails raised serious concerns because the anonymous author knew the comings and goings of Allen and Petraeus, a former general who had preceded Allen in Afghanistan. His report back to the FBI started the investigation that led to Broadwell and uncovered her affair with Petraeus.

This is no doubt one of those stories put out to desensitize people/sheeple and to get them to associate Benghazi with a sex scandal.
Out of reverence for the heroes who put their lives on the line for the embassy staff and the embassy staff alone, and not some wayward brass and their hooke-, oh, I mean, socialite girlfriends.
Do we here have to read every headline ABCNBCCNNCBXNYT wants us to?

I’m not sure what you’re getting at. This story refutes the notion that the FBI agent in question was some bare chested sex obsessed weirdo. His motives were about national security, and puts more in the Benghazi narrative, than the crazy bimbo distraction.

Dying to know how Jill Kelly’s husband, the Tampa oncologist, is enjoying all this, or NOT. They seem to have a near insatiable threshold for attention and celebrity, in the way of the Saieds’, the party crashers.
These people are living in ownership of two multi million dollar properties that are in foreclosure. House flipping on the side, I guess, that is, when Jill was off the computer long enough.
Paula Broadwell is staying in DC with her brother, so obviously there is a limit to the support Mr. Broadwell is willing to offer, for the sake of his sons, I’m sure.

It would be better if the drive by media focused on what the Al Qaeda group attacked our CIA annex(?), than this sex talk.

Anyone caught between top military officers, the DOD, the CIA, the FBI, the Secretary of State, the White House, nests of media vipers, scorned women, and perhaps even her local homeowners association (ha ha); needs to lawyer-up big. Guilt or innocence has nothing to do with it.

So his interest was piqued because the emailer knew stuff about some big name bureaucrats. Did he smell a plot to assassinate them by setting off the harassee as a Manchurian Candidate with e-threats instead of playing cards?
They met in 2011 and he starts an FBI investigation for her over these e-mails??? 2011???? Not exactly old friendship.

Check out this article on this same agent. Think the media is not carrying water for someone on this agent? I think the powers that be are upset this agent ratted them out to the Republicans.
