No, I don’t think so, because even he knows there’s not a chance in a million that he’d get the nomination again. I think he actually may have had a flicker of conscience, and he’s doing this precisely because he knows he has nothing left to lose. He’s not going to be the GOP presidential candidate again, it’s possible that he may not win his seat again or may retire, and I think perhaps he is really concerned about what Obama is doing.

What we really need is somebody with nothing left to lose, because believe me, anybody who opposes Obama is probably going to lose it all.

My reply must be in two parts --

A) I was joking. McCain is clearly too old to consider running for president in 2016. I know he's not thinking about that.

B) I believe that McCain is positioning himself for a future cave-in which will knock the legs out from under any Republican effort to damage Obama on this. At just the right time, McCain will make a deal and defend Obama when Obama needs it most. This is McCain's MO. He plays for the other side. I believe this 100%.

This guy has no conscience. Otherwise he would have been doing this before the election. Nothing more than McCain grandstanding again, so he can reach across the aisle later.
