Sen. John McCain is calling for establishment of a Watergate-style congressional committee to investigate the deaths of four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
The Arizona Republican tells "CBS This Morning" he believes the unanswered questions surrounding events at Benghazi on Sept. 11 require such a select committee.
McCain accused the Obama administration of making misleading statements. He also said U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice went on national television and said incorrectly that the violence was the result of a demonstration against an anti-Muslim movie made in the United States. Asked if he'd stand in the way of any nomination of Rice as the next secretary of state, McCain replied, "She's not qualified."
He said Rice spoke "in defiance" of the facts in the case.

McCain plays for himself.
And, if he senses it will benefit him to stab his fellow Republicans in the back, he won't hesitate to do it.

Maybe the media are bored fawning over Obama with no Republicans to whip anymore.
I think there is hope in McCain wanting to show up a president....and as I posted above, the media being bored and looking for something to fill the pages with.
I think I may learn to speak Chinese..could come in handy.
I believe we may gain many new Chinese immigrants coming to collect their assets.
Oh, I don't believe in McCain.
Plus side-- Chinese will vote for capitalism.
I know exactly what you mean—but there is a difference here. I have never heard McCain speak with such conviction, without that phony, pasted grin he usually has. This is the first time I have believed anything he has said. I think the guy has some bottled-up rage that needs a target—and he may have found the perfect one.
Realize, however, nothing, absolutey nothing he says, or anyone else, will be given time of day by the media. Zero is the political arm of the media, and they will protect him 24/7
Maybe some in the media have suddenly discovered most of them won’t be needed in a communist government, and will pose a “risk’ to said government and need to be purged.
BFD. He’ll get his ass handed to him like he always does when he “reaches across the aisle”. He’s posturing.

force Obama to make an unpleasant choice.
ditch Rice, and Obama appears weak,
or appoint Rice as SOS, and
live with a SOS that is an international laughing stock
(whose legacy is already behind here)

This guy has no conscience. Otherwise he would have been doing this before the election. Nothing more than McCain grandstanding again, so he can reach across the aisle later.
Think succession of command. I am for open hearings, Watergate style. A prayer the succession would be as in the Constitution. No aid to cover up anything as was done during Watergate. Am dreaming. Of course if it goes down, that is going to make people (many people) angrier than hades. Have fastened seat belt and strapped in children and grandchildren, though for this one, am doubtful there will be enough popcorn. Best go buy some sparklers too.
Americans may want to make certain the Right person is in the Speakers chair.
