Drop the Indian headdress
Put on a hijab. That I’d like to see!!
Addendums to all current hate-crime legislation:
Any future wearing of beads or feathers anywhere on a (Caucasian, non-Hispanic) person’s body will be considered racist, and therefore assumed to be a hate crime.
Any assault or theft, or any other directly anti-person crime or perceived unpleasantness committed or suspected by any (Caucasian, non-Hispanic) person on any (non-Caucasian, or Hispanic Caucasian) person wearing beads or feathers anywhere on their body shall be considered a hate crime.
For the purposes of this legislation, hate crimes committed by Caucasians may be physical, vocal, or merely mental. Mental hate crimes committed by Caucasians, including the factor of mens rea, shall not need to be proved, and may be assumed.
For the purposes of this legislation, the terms “Caucasian” and “non-Caucasian” shall not be determined by scientifically proven genetic or genealogical analysis for either the claimant or the defendant, but shall be determined by any ad hoc panel of people who are deemed by the local and national media to be “in the right,” on the basis of their voting patterns and their abilities to scream about victimization the loudest and most persistently.

Needless to say, MP would be totally unPC nowadays.
Or, as Don Imus said, "Wait, are you one of those muti-millionnaire indian Casino/Reservation groups? Yes? WELL SUCK IT UP, TONTO!!!"
;-\
I hope all those feathers fell from live birds — or else I will notify PETA.
I’m sure the Native American community embraced the gay indian from the Village people.
“When you see a Lakota chief wearing a full headdress, you know that he was a very honorable man. He was a leader. He did a lot of honorable things for his people,” said Michelle Spotted Elk, a Santa Cruz, Calif., woman of mixed heritage whose husband is Lakota. “It also has religious significance. With them, there's not a division between spirituality and their leadership.”
This is bunkum. Many Indians today have purchased a headdress with turkey feathers, not eagle feathers, to wear and for show off. They did NOT earn the feathers.
Eagle feathers were given for the most brutal actions in the inter-tribal wars of the high plains, namely killing men, women, children, capturing weapons, stealing horses. None were given for peaceful pursuits.
I remember when Leonid Brezhnev visited Oklahoma. Governor David Hall gave a headdress to USSR leader Leonid Brezhnev. He looked like an very uncomfortable Calvin Coolidge wearing it.
****Victoria’s Secret has apologized for putting a Native American-style headdress on a model for its annual fashion show,***
perhaps they would feel more comfortable with the Indian chief character from the British movie CARRY ON COWBOY!
I don’t know about the other items she is wearing but as for the headdress like medals awarded to soldiers for their accomplishments Indian warriors must earn their headdress. Many Indians view wearing a headdress the same way many here view someone wearing metals they did not earn. Some here will it is wrong to wear an American flag as clothing.
have we become a nation not worth saving?
an election is stolen, yet we see generals on the stage with eggs galore being thrown at them.
is this the true Victoria’s Secret? has society devolved us into a bunch of mushy nothingness with no scruples, morals much less common sense.
we’re the Hopi elders right? will anyone in the cavalry even be on guard or will they be tuned into the show?
Rome fell for a heckuva lot less.. but no less dramatically. In the end, it turned on its own generals and peoples and paid the ultimate price.
We are what we were and remain. Human, subject to physical worlds that are filled with spiritual boundaries and temptations no man could resist before the fall, and some folks are worried about a headdress.
Since when is displaying ignorance worthy of criticism?
Would dressing up the model in, e.g., typical Bavarian Lederhosen, "Jankerl," and Tyrolean hat (i.e. traditional men's clothing) have been equally offensive, and thus also villified?
Actually, I doubt that Victoria's Secret is ignorant of the fact that "squaws" weren't allowed to wear such headresses, etc. Thus, it was not a display of ignorance, but rather an intentional subversion of what Victoria's Secret definitely knows about Indian culture and history.

Bump for later
Such complaints are a sure sign of a loser culture. Accomplished groups don’t worry about such nonsense.
Usually, it is just white liberals pretending to be offended by these American Indians cultural references. For example, the Indians I know would all approve of the buckskin bikini.
In this case, though, the headdress might be seen as an equivalent of a Medal of Honor, so mocking what it stands for is somewhat offensive to people of good character.
If it isn’t the bitchin’ blacks or hispanics, then the injuns are on the warpath. Aw, did somebody’s widdle feelings get hurt? I’m sick of it. Grow some thicker skin people! Just damn.
