Gen. David Petraeus sure loved helping his lady friends.
While he was director of the CIA, Petraeus wrote a letter supporting the child-custody fight of the psychologically unstable twin sister of his close friend Jill Kelley whose bombshell claims of being threatened by his lover led to the top spys resignation last week, sources told The Post.
The four-star generals letter to the court written in the past two months supported a motion to overturn a ruling made nearly a year earlier by a judge who resoundingly denied custody to Kelleys sister, Natalie Khawam, because of serious reservations about her honesty and mental stability, court records show.

meanwhile is other bizarre news..
Mcafee claims they were trying to take him out.

He needs to hire him a Burn Notice type of guy to fix his problem.
Very transparent.
Yep. No one is discussing what is NOT in the news. The FBI search at Broadwell’s home because of what she said in Denver on Oct 26. Remarks made just 5 days after she was first interviewed by the FBI.
Maybe I can help. All this happened in Florida. Didn’t Jeb Bush used to be the governor there?
Jeb 2016.
Where’s Crist?
I receive emails from friends which some might consider "inappropriate". Some I pass along, others I delete because of poor taste. Inappropriate is a subjective term and what is appropriate in the locker room is not appropriate at the dinner table.
They have now ensnared another general in the "probe" and I am starting to believe that all of this may be a prelude to some major downsizing of the military. After all if all of this alleged debauchery is taking place at the highest levels, can you imagine what might be going on in the ranks?
If they’re all having affairs, they’re all handing out the ammunition.
I don’t consider it “idiotic” to question why and how a commander of a regional war and subsequently, CIA Director has the time and energy to devote to these extraneous activities.
And not just one commander, but also the commander who succeeded him.
If the character support were an isolated incident, of course that wouldn’t raise an eyebrow, but we’re talking 10’s of 1,000’s of emails, many with inappropriate content, and who knows how much time devoted to these “diversions”. And we’re also talking about an amazing lack of judgement.
It’s the big picture that sends up red flags, not one letter of character support.
I have family members on active duty and they have been barraged with all kinds of mandatory lectures, video conferences, and paperwork as of late pertaining to what are and are not appropriate relationships, harassment, etc. This has become a TOP issue in the military and to have the creme de la creme screwing it up sends a terrible message to those down the line.
I haven’t had time to dissect all this stuff. Can you quickly explain the partisan angles to all this back stabbing?
People who cheat on their spouse are psychologically unstable.
I think you’ve misunderstood the purpose of an appointed government office. The average person might think a director if the CIA is in his position for a reason involving the national security of the United States. In actuality, as career apparatchiks know, all such offices exist for their patronage value.
The President uses them to do favors for his friends, and the holders of the offices use their positions to do favors for their friends.
Updates:
At around 10:45 ET the New York Post added far more to the story, including Petraeus actual statements, and more background on Khawam:
The father, Grayson Wolfe, was unable to see the child for more than a year, according to court documents. The judge overseeing the case cited Khawam with outrageous conduct, bad faith litigation tactics, and illogical thinking, awarding full custody to the father and socking the mom with $350,000 in legal fees.
My wife and I have known Natalie for approximately three years, getting to know her while serving in Tampa, Florida, through our friendship with Dr. and Mrs. Scott Kelley, Petraeus wrote in a letter introduced as part of a legal motion by Natalie Khawams lawyer.

The New York Post has more on Allens involvement in the case:
A separate letter from Allen is dated Sept. 22, two days after the Petraeus letter. Natalie clearly loves [childs name] and cherishes each and every opportunity she has to spend time with him. She is a dedicated mother, Allen wrote. In light of Natalies maturity, integrity and steadfast commitment to raising her child, I humbly request your reconsideration of the existing mandated custody settlement, Allen wrote. He said he got to observe the mother and child at command social functions.

I can’t stop laughing over your Libyan goat post. Aint’ it the truth LOL...great post!
Was there a date on when Rove's picture was taken?

“In August, Broadwell was promoted to lieutenant colonel, according to the Army.”
"Allen gets freaked-out and contacts the shirtless-FBI agent, who had apparently, in a plot right out of Homeland, become obsessed with Kelley, and was sending her shirtless photos of himself before she ever told him about the harassing emails."
Excellent analysis overall, except for two points:
1. Broadwell's e-mails were clearly directed at Jill Kelley saying IIRC "Who do you think you are, parading around the base. Tone it down." That is not what Paula Broadwell would have written to the Centcom Commander!
2. The report today is that Jill Kelley knew the “shirtless FBI agent” previously from “an encounter” (some kind of investigation) and that the shirtless episode occurred in the past after that previous encounter, but before the recent events and Jill's involvement with Gen. Allen, IIRC.
So the FBI was drawn in by Jill Kelley, not Gen. Allen. So the excruciating irony is that Jill brought the house down on herself.
BINGO! Col. Broadwell looked extremely stressed and knew she was going down, along with the General. The subtext of her statement IMO was that if Petraeus knew that local militia prisoners were a possible proximate motive for the attacks then Petraeus knew he was a lie about the video to protect both Obama and himself and his wife's job.
IMO, Broadwell had gone batshit after talking to the FBI because when she said “you may not have heard this” and drops the prisoner bomb she obviously knew it was classified AND she was saying this just days after the 3rd debate on October 22 when Romney failed to take Obama down after Obama lied in the 2nd debate and Crowley backed him up.
She looked stressed and sounded worse. The sound of her voice and pattern of speech gave her away. She knew what she was saying. She was nervous.
I don't really care why she made those revelations. Only that she did. :)
Welcome to Snookiville the USA, circa 2012...

No, I can’t. Now John Kerry and and Senator Whitehouse are involved.
I have no idea whose side is winning in this.
No, out there somewhere is the claim that an email went to Allen from Broadwell about Jill...with the theory that Allen is the conduit to the FBI.
