Morning FRiends!
I missed the part yesterday about Rose's book. It's a vanity print but hopefully it will do well!
Morning! I can’t remember the name of it, but it sounds like a wonderful, and touching, book. I’d like to get a copy of it myself.
Ben probably out against Baltimore next week....OUCH! Then we play them again two weeks later!
I stayed up to watch the game from bed. Dead tired this morning but I have to stop on the way home to get some Golden Mushroom Soup for a pork chop dinner for BIL tonight.
Good morning n’@!
So...did Yinz read...the Feds raided Paula Broadwell’s home last night...wag the dog. Then hide it.
Well find out what “evidence” they got after their finished creating it. In my news free life, I wonder what the 2 journalists left on the planet (Herridge and Griffin) had to say about the “raid.”
I watched the Steeler game instead.
Morning P6....love Golden Mushroom soup as a cooking sauce:)
I finally read the end of yesterday’s thread LATE last night. Your “tempting” house (great price) sounds wonderful. I understand your quandary on yard work, snow removal and taxes though.
There was a game last night??? I didn’t know! Well, I’m glad they won at least! Ha!
I had yesterday off. Short week. We have been watching less tv. Still trying to get over the shock. Boy, the Petraeus scandal knocked Benghazi off of the map. I suspect that’s part of the plan.
Yeah, I heard about the feds raiding Broadwell’s home. huh! Your’re right - more wag the dog. I wonder who they’ll go after next to keep the diversion going?
ugh! Your’re = You’re
dang!
Quinn’s piece on Planned Parenthood is pretty powerful. Nancy Giles (whoever that is) truly is a useful idiot.
It’s the end times. They can be the only explanation.
Raiding the house last night...ANOTHER overnight raid! Amazing!
Mrs just heard the Margaret Sanger quote and didn’t know anything about it. Believed all the BbS they fed her in High School.
Got my soup. Going to brown the pork chops, mix in some granny smith apples, a tiny bit of onion, maybe some worchester sauce and apple juice then cook till everything is happy. Pour the soup over top and bake in the oven or just cover and cook on the stove top.
Was going to have fried cabbage or black beans and rice but when I got home I found a box of cheddar and bacon potatoes that we need to use. Oldest son brought us a gallon of milk and pound of butter last night but daught had mrs p6 babysit last night and picked up a gallon of milk and pound of butter too.
So potatoes it is.
Also wanted to make apple pan dowdy or shoo fly pie but I doubt I’ll have the time.
Ahhh Kristol...I never got him!
Yes! Truly stunning! It’s as if people like her live on a different planet and don’t know what’s going on! I wonder when she said that.
And yes, it feels like the end times. There’s so much happening that I never thought would ever be possible in this country. How does one man - obamao - have so much power over so many? And why can’t good people win against him?
Giles...wasn’t that James O’Keefe’s gal who helped him bust ACORN? Must be a different Giles.
Yup that house is real nice and the taxes are basically less than for Crafton which is right next door. But Crafton has a fairly decent school district while Pgh is a mess! Oldest son isn’t too worried. His kids will be in the city BUT the school is less thsn a mile away in a decent area. For High School they can go to a private school or Bishop Canevin which is right over the hill. They aren’t Catholic but Canevin is fine. I spent some time there and at Duquesne and iked it.
Of course his kids are a long way from HS!
Did anyone cstch the name of Rose’s book? ? Jim mentioned it but I forgot by the time I got home. Maybe “Thank a Soldier”?
We’ve been doing a lot of adventurous cooking lately too. I rediscovered the bread machine. I decided to try it making just dough - not baking bread. I found a recipe for dinner rolls that is so good! Put every thing in the bread machine on the ‘dough’ setting and then baked it in the oven. OMG! Got the nicest, softest loaf of bread! YUM!
Then we were at the store and they had cubed pork steaks on sale. Never had those before. Mr S breaded them in seasoned bread crumbs and fried them up and we had them with brown gravy and mashed potatoes. Wow, good!
Oh, and we made horseradish over the weekend. We’re stocked up with horseradish for a good while!
I went to St. Joe’s, down in Coraopolis, for three years until we moved to NY when I was a kid. When I was there, they were first through 8th grade. They closed the school last year. Too bad. Son and wife want to either send their kids to a Catholic school or home school.
The heck with Petraeus! What about BENGHAZI AND FAST AND FURIOUS!!!
They’re already linking the “other woman,” Jill Kelley, to General Allen!
I’m seriously looking at buying a house but don’t know where to go. I’d like to stay in Crafton, but as you say the taxes are higher. Then again, if I go to the City right next door, I’ll have to pay more than double the wage tax, so I guess it’s a wash.
Looked at a house in Greentree borough the other day, but it’s close to the fracking chemical plant. I’m not anti-fracking, but I’m kind of squeamish about having a chemical factory so close.
Shoot I spent tome writing a reply and lost it. Bssically yes to making dough in the machine and baking in the oven. Last week I made a wonderful herb bread all in the machine but next time I’ll bake it in the oven.
Your own horseradish! I am so jealous!
