As they say in politics, timing is everything, and the shock resignation of David Petraeus as CIA director raises serious questions about whether this was genuinely a resignation caused by his affair with his biographer, or whether it was a hatchet job by Barack Obama's administration to prevent him giving evidence this Thursday to the Senate Intelligence Committee.
The general's friends tell me that his sudden departure from Langley has nevertheless raised suspicions that his political enemies in the Obama administration – and there are many – used his dalliance to force him out of the CIA before he could make damaging allegations about the handling of the al-Qaeda attack on the US Consulate in Benghazi last September, in which US Ambassador Chris Stephens and three other staff died.
Gen Petraeus is a political animal – it was even rumoured that he might run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016. The Obama crowd certainly saw him in those terms, which is why he was shunted off to the CIA in the first place, rather than being allowed to achieve his long-cherished ambition of becoming head of America's armed forces.
If Gen Petraeus harboured any thoughts of revenge, then Thursday's session of the Senate Intelligence Committee's investigation into the Benghazi killings offered him the perfect platform.
As CIA Director, Gen Petraeus would have all the details of who was responsible for this glaring security breach, and there were many senior members of the Obama administration who had good reason to silence him so they could save their own skins.

I don’t see a 4 start general with 40 ++ years of service going under the bus willingly for a person who cannot even prove his citizenship or his school records or his health records.
This will be popcorn time for many weeks to come, IMO.
He can testify on his own or be subpeoned, but as a civilian he has two choices, lawyer up and plead the fifth, there is nothing anyone can do about that or he can go "all in" and tell the truth and may risk his life or the lives of his family if he does.
The Chicago mob is running our country right now whatever he decides to do he better get his family in a safe house or clam up forever.

That can’t be the whole story. He doesn’t have to be current CIA Director to testify. They are probably also blackmailing him to keep him from testifying truthfully.
Also former senator George Mitchell (Nobel Peace Prize, also got Bill Clinton elected by forcing Bush 41 to break his tax promise in 1990, which finished him politically).

I wish someone would do a sort of daily summary/update of the Generals/skanks/30,000 emails/Benghazi stuff. And how many Generals actually have been fired or resigned; I see varying numbers and names.

Sounds very probable. The only problem with the scenario is that I don’t think anybody would have cared if Obama had been coked out of his mind or smoking crack behind the stage. Remember Washington Mayor Marion Barry, reelected while in jail or just afterwards, IIRC, on his drug charges? He smoked crack with hookers all over DC, even supplied drugs, and the people who voted for him didn’t care. Heck, even the black church ladies who theoretically led decent lives and were raising their grandchildren and great grandchildren voted for him. They didn’t even care that he was such a lousy mayor and so incompetent and uninterested that DC became even more of a cesspool than ever, and that they were living in total squalor while King Marion got to cruise around in his pimpmobile with his hookers.
Those are the same people who voted for Obama. I guess the only thing that shocked me is that there were so many of them.
We’ve become like a larger scale version of the typical black liberal dominated city on its downhill run (think Detroit, DC, NO, Oakland...). And these hideous mayors with their corrupt governments get reelected again and again, usually until they end up on federal charges somewhere, and unfortunately that’s not going to happen in this case.
He will not have access to any of the records - but he sure can testify that they exist, and who to ask.
Of course that means that the hearings/testimony will have to be real, under penalty of perjury, and that the republicans (stupid party) ask the tough questions and follow-up.
His two children are adopted, and although they were Irish (siblings), they were adopted through a Latin American agency, most likely a Catholic agency. There was probably nothing sneaky about it, but simply a matter of convenience, because European adoptions are very difficult (they want to encourage abortion, naturally). However, it may violate some US law; also, thanks to pressure from the left, it has gotten very difficult for North Americans to adopt in Latin America, so perhaps the law changed there even around the time of the adoption.
I suppose it’s possible that Obama threatened to have Roberts’ children taken away unless he found some way of declaring Obamacare constitutional. Personally, I thought he did so in such a way that it could have been challenged (taxes do not originate in the Executive or even in the Senate), but obviously nobody in the House had the guts to pick up the challenge.
His 2 adopted children don’t have the pproper paperwork. I think CODE PINK was the first group that said this when he was going to be confirmed as a SC Justice.

It's not exactly a deathbed confession, because Kamata apparently died unexpectedly in his own home. But the people who talked to him absolutely didn't think he was kidding around.
I happen to think it's the real deal. But without an ace, world-class autopsy, it'd be impossible now to determine whether Kamata's death was by natural causes or induced, e.g. by prussic acid and other catalogued agents known to induce "death/natural causes".
