With more than 28,600 signatures collected since Nov. 9, a White House website petition from an Arlington, Texas man has attracted enough support to trigger an automatic review by the Obama administration.
Petitions submitted through the Obama White Houses We the People program require a response from the administration after they have attracted 25,000 signatures.
The Daily Caller reported Monday morning that since the day after President Barack Obamas re-election, citizens from 20 states had submitted petitions asking for peaceful separations from the United States. (RELATED: White House website deluged with secession petitions from 20 states)

Would love to see them get there freedom.
Would love to see them get their freedom.
Thief in Chief.
Hmmm. seccesion. I’m not sure whether that belongs more in the change, or the hope category!
I don’t see Obama as a legitimate leader. He has shredded the constitution of this country. Tell me, if 51% of the population voted to end freedom of speech, would that law be legitimate? No. Because it violates the constitution. Obama has not only acted illegally, he has lied to the American people, and he has jeopardized our national security. I hate this man with more passion than I have EVER hated a Democrat before, and many feel the same way. He is the most far-left president we’ve ever had, and just because some dumbass “co-exist” bumper sticker-peddling teenagers, race-loyalists, and moochers voted him into power, does not mean I will ever stop fighting progressive tyranny. If it comes to the secession of red states, so be it.
You have a right to your opinion. I never meant otherwise. But the state of Texas is not going to secede. Ever. We have heard this before. Every few years. It just is not going to happen. But again, that does not mean you are not entitled to your opinion.
I have been in and around politics since 1972.
Noooooo kidding.
Other than “We the people.” Is there any legal process for this outside of another civil war?
You’ll have to pardon me for not taking your word for how much smarter you are than me if you can’t address my points.
Not holding office, heaven forbid. I said that wrong. I have worked for and with politicians since 1972. I was 26 and much more idealistic and hopeful and....naive...and..you get the picture.
“Texan Spring?”
Oh good heavens. No, no. Never did I mean to imply I am smarter than you. I said we disagree. That does not mean one of us is right and one wrong. It means we have different opinions. Does not make me smarter certainly. Take my word for that, please.
No, he’s a dicktater.....
So true, it took the confederates over a hundred years and a name change, but they won, and the blacks helped.
“There simply aren’t any good options going forward, only an array of undesirables stretching from bad to catastrophic.”
That’s a fact.
I agree with you 100%. We’ve already started thinking about changing our retirement plans and moving to a state with people who think like we do. Here in WA we’re looked at as crazy loon conservatives!
Well, he's not a president, since the term "president" implies accountability. He's no longer accountable to anyone. This has been demonstrated numerous times over the last year or so. Accountable to Congress? No. He has run roughshod over the Constitution, yet the House has failed to exercise its powers to reign him in, and it's highly doubtful this will change. The Supreme Court? No. Chief Justice Roberts abdicated his responsibility last summer.
Now after the election, he's no longer accountable to we, the people. So what term should we use? Chairman?
We need a secession plan. Here it is, with objections to secession answered:
