At last we learn why and how the FBI had been drawn into the loop.

If they melded “24” and “Desperate Housewives” into a single television series, it would look much like this.

Hey, didn’t they watch Goodfellas and learn from the experience of that guy they tried to feed to the lions? Don;t mess with someone who has a relative (or friend) working for the FBI!

Amazing how easily it is for the JonStewart media to get to the bottom of things when it suits their purposes. I am ‘stunned’ we in three days know with specificity who is who and who did and said what to whom.

Now that we have the background why General Pet resigned he isn't working and has plenty of free time to answer more important questions? I doubt his wife is all that interested in hearing his excuses about his extracurricular activities that got the FBI involved in her world.

But what, exactly, was this F.B.I. employee trying to expose?

That's where the facts end and the speculation starts!

Some early contenders:

The thick plottens.... I smell a rat, big-time. Who is setting up Petraeus for a fall, and why? Ask: Cui bono?

The answer to the question of “Why David Reichert?” will surely be interesting.

Elected sheriff of King County, WA, law enforcement background and caucus member.

Your head is never in danger of being knocked off until it rises above the level of those around you.

This works for both Patreaus and Broadwell. The heads of others are just coming into view. The “personal friend” may be next.

Here's an interesting tidbit from the NYTimes...
The involvement of the F.B.I., according to government officials, began when Ms. Kelley, alarmed by about half a dozen anonymous e-mails accusing her of inappropriate flirtatious behavior with Mr. Petraeus, complained to an F.B.I. agent who is also a personal friend. That agent, who has not been identified, helped get a preliminary inquiry started. Agents working with federal prosecutors in a local United States attorney’s office began trying to figure out whether the e-mails constituted criminal cyber-stalking.

PING!

From article: "Even though the FBI looked into Petraeus and Broadwell and found no evidence of crimes or security breaches, sometime in October this same FBI agent leaked information about the scandal to GOP congressman Dave Reichert of Washington (although why Reichert was chosen is unclear). Reichert then passed the so-called "whistle-blower" onto House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, who did the responsible thing and relayed the concerns to FBI Chief Robert Mueller. According to a Cantor statement:"

I know more than a few FBI agents. Even known some SAIC's.

My first reaction is that the agent needs to have his azz kicked for releasing any information on an ongoing FBI investigation.

My second reaction is that I know of no agent of any kind that would go out on such a limb. They are ALL very sharp and very well educated people. Doing something like this especially since it leapfrogs over the chain of command is suicide to a field agent or even an SAIC.

Either the agent is not as smart as the ones I know or there is something pretty weird happening. This is all VERY strange.

Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods Christopher Stevens Sean Smith...... are these Americans still dead? Does anyone really care?

Does Broadwell claim that while having sex, Petraeus would make jungle noises and scream, “Who’s you daddy now?” Will we ever get to the bottom of this?

Did anyone get murdered because of Fast & Furious? It’s been so long it’s hard to remember.

Did Petraeus and Broadwell wear Superhero costumes during sex?? When will we know all of the steamy details.... will there be a movie??

Some interesting little tidbits in this article:

“She is also reported to have been invited to a breakfast at the White House.”

“Military sources say that Jill Kelley was frequently seen in David Petraeus’ company at social events held at Central Command headquarters.”

“In recognition of her work with officials at CENTCOM, Jill Kelley was recently named as a honorary consulate general to South Korea.”

So then it was Ms Kelly who lit the fuse and not the Broadwell chick.
