Splintered beams and boards on a piece of charred earth were all that remained Sunday where at least two Indianapolis homes were leveled in a blast that killed two people and rendered homes for blocks uninhabitable. A backhoe raked through the rubble in the middle-class subdivision as clusters of firefighters and rescue workers weary from a long, chaotic day that began late the night before waited for their next assignment.
The two-story, brick-faced homes on either side of those demolished by the blast were ruins. One home's roof was gone, a blackened husk left behind. On the other side of the gap, the side of a home was sheared off. Across the street, garage doors had buckled from the heat.
It wasn't yet clear what caused the blast that shook the neighborhood at 11 p.m. Saturday. Residents described hearing a loud boom that blew out windows and collapsed ceilings. Some thought a plane had crashed or that it was an earthquake.
Alex Pflanzer, who was asleep when the nearby homes were leveled, said he heard his wife screaming and thought someone was breaking in his house. Grabbing his gun, he checked the house and saw the front door was standing open.
"I walked outside and all the houses were on fire," he said.

strange... jihadi workplace accident?
Did a Union thug see a Romney sign on the lawn?
Obamayouth work accident?
I live about 2 miles from where this happened. The blast concussion ROCKED my house. I thought something had hit the house. I was panicked. Every neighbor in our subdivision came running out of their house. The blast was heard and felt 8 to 10 miles from the epicenter. They are now saying 80 homes are damaged. 14 are knocked off foundations and a complete loss. 4 are gone.
No word on the cause yet. ATF, Homeland Security, FBI and all the locals are there.
Many in that neighborhood are in my church and go to school with my kids.

New London School explosion
The New London School explosion occurred on March 18, 1937, when a natural gas leak caused an explosion, destroying the London School of New London, Texas.

Meth Lab?
Naptown ping.
That is being speculated. There are some suspicious circumstances regarding the source house. It was for sale by owner. The girl that lived there with her boyfriend were out of town (still are).
The gas leak angle is starting to go stale.
Natural gas. I’m sticking with it from experience.

Why?
We had a poster on another thread who said there as a problem with gas at that residence ...
OBamunist playing with his drones again? He has free reign to assassinate Americans, so why not hit the Bible-toting heartland again.
“It wasn’t yet clear what caused the blast that shook the neighborhood”
Gas?
IIRC, the gas utility has said it wasn’t a gas leak.
“The cause of the explosion is still a mystery, 18 hours later. Authorities said they dont have an idea of what caused it, but are not ruling anything out.
City officials estimated damage at $3.5 million. A local gas utility said an initial inspection found no gas leaks in the area.”
“That is being speculated”
According to the Rep quoted, it’s been dismissed.
Of course, that’s just 1 man who isn’t directly involved and may have bad/misunderstood info.

Citizens gas is "still investigating" but so far has stated there is no gas leak in their system in the area and no reports of problems. I don't know what "problem with gas" they could be refering to.
The house was for sale by owner. The blast and concussion was so enormous, people are wondering why no one would have smelled the gas in the neighborhood. Some have speculated that the basement could have filled completely with gas. But after that, the odor would have been prominent in the neighborhood as the gas (heavier than air) started seeping out of the house.
I've heard (fire fighter) one person suggest that if it was a gas leak that filled the basement that fast, it would have been one hell of a leak (not a joint seeping).
BTW - Andre Carson is an ignoramous that knows nothing. Nobody even takes him serious. He thought 911 was an inside job. If he says it's sunny out I'd take an umbrella.
Do a little research on Rep. Andre Carson. He's a windbag and doesn't have the brains god gave a screwdriver. Nobody takes him seriously and I doubt anyone would tell him much of what they knew.
He thought Bush knew about 911 before it happened.
I'm embarrassed that he is my rep now that they re-districted. Yuck.

Oh yea, I forgot the most important part. There was a very odd "smell" thoughout the southside after the explosion and it was still lingering in the wind at 2:00AM. It was NOT the smell of natural gas and it did not have the typical "house fire" smell. It smell almost sweet, floral, but musky. (That's the best I can describe it.)
My first thought; was ‘meth lab’ or. ..suitcase bomb/or ‘some such’ in the making. (’Gas leak’ speculated; but no mention of odor of ‘gas’.) Whatever; it clearly was HUGE. Incredible.
As bad as it is; hope it was truly ‘accidental’ as to cause.
