Doesn’t the Feds own most of the territory in Alaska thus what size would AK be should it remove itself from the USA?

I’ve seen a Louisiana and a Texas Petition, so far. Probably many more to come.

If this was serious, the Alaskans would arrange their own vote - not ask the White House.
However, it may be a movement by Native Americans to gain an autonomous region independent of the state and national government. Probably to claim oil that is currently held by the state or the Feds. Then the money goes to a small group of Natives instead of the whole state of Alaska.

Alaska can go ahead and leave. They already rec more in Federal funds than they return. The Federal Gov should sell off the federal lands to the highest bidder and let the Alaskans fend for themselves. Buh, bye.

Sorry...I know too many in Alaska to have any pity for their so called plite. Fooey. Just go.

Why go to a “whitehouse.gov” site to put your name on a list there?

When we moved to the MatSu from back east in early 90’s, I had a neighbor who had homesteaded his place in 42. Came to Alaska when he was like 20. He passed away a few years back at the age of 94, drove his van clear up to Eagle on the Yukon for a visit when he was 92 years old. He would tell me how it use to be when he first arrived, back when all the Anchorage people thought the Japanese were coming, ha ha. He said nowadays, Alaskans are all just becoming Americans; not radical freedom loving like the Gold Rush People were that were still alive when he came to Alaska. He also told me that during the statehood vote, most Alaskans didn’t want to become a state; wanted to remain like the Phillapines. Alaskans knew they couldn’t afford state govt, they’d be taxed to death. He said the feds brought in 20,000 military prior to the vote, then changed the law so that they could vote, why it passed. I really do think most Alaskans would vote to remain a state though, even all the Repubs; as we do have more freedom here than anywhere’s else in lower 48. I live in an unorganized borough, no local govt, no taxes, no LEOs, no services, nobody to call and complain to, and everybody thinking they run the show and everybody else telling them to shove it where the sun don’t shine. Everybody is armed for bear protection and has’nt been a murder in 30 years, no crime and a bunch of good Indians and kooky White People that would be locked up if they lived in the city. I couldn’t live anywheres else and really be happy.

Google State Constitutional Conventions. Each State holds their own. It is tedious, but will avoid the bloodshed of our First Civil War.

NEVER ask the Damned US Federal Government for anything. They live in their own World, and only have the power over us that we allow them to have.

Elected Federal Politicians are fewer than 600 on a good day, and we are 300 MILLION everyday! DUH!

During the American revolution several ststes in New England area including MASS were going to suceed from the 13 colonies...

They had sent their young men and had been fighting and dying for years...

George Washington had made them certain promises or they thought he had or imagined he should and they hadnt been paid nor had they received any supplieds or armament or food from the Continental army..

The crops and farms and families back home were neglected and they were deserting in disgust..

a secret convention place and date was set and delegates from each of the 4 or 5 states were chosen to attend...

I dont remember what happened to cause the convention and the idea to be cancelled but George was in dangewr for a while of losing much of his ready army and the war...

anyhoo the War of Northern Agression was not the 1st time a few states had planned to suceed...

and now here again...

When in the course of human events...

I read over 45 years ago that ALASKA was one state which could do without the US.

The most co-depedent state requiring US help was HAIWAII.

It would have been nice if someone with some English skills had looked that over before it was submitted.
