INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The investigation into an explosion on the south side of Indianapolis could take weeks, an official with Citizens Energy said on Sunday.
Two people were killed, and more than a dozen homes were damaged or destroyed after a large explosion rocked a south side neighborhood late Saturday night.
The Indianapolis Fire Department says the explosion happened in the 8400 block of Fieldfare Way, which is in a subdivision just off of Sherman Avenue south of Stop 11 Road.
Citizens Energy shut off gas to all the homes in the subdivision and investigated potential gas issues in the neighborhood. An official said the company had received no reports of an odor of gas in the area, and no gas leaks had been discovered as of early Sunday morning.

Btw, I have no idea if this has been posted because the search function no longer works for me. What's the deal with that?

Wow! That was one nasty explosion.

Can a natural gas explosion be felt dozens of miles away.
Now there are claims that it was a drone hit. The drone had deviated from a flight track. That is supposedly a report from Russia. Propaganda out there to get people stirred up.
Reports at the beginning of the incident and on police scanners said it was a plane crash The Mayor said that was quickly dispelled.
Firefighters on the scene said they had never seen a gas explosion like this with such effect. It’s like a war zone
There are combination CO / Combustible gas detectors available for well under $100. Sounds like a good thing (or two) to use around the house.

One of the houses was vacant. I immediately thought of Walter White.
And then, 2 years later, when you change the battery because it died.. a small spark leaps across.... ;)
You can't win. The universe HATES us.

Yep, it really doesn't take all that much fuel either.
I'm sure more rumors will follow, local FOX 59 just said the 2 dead were a Greenwood School teacher and her husband.......thats all I know for now.
This report is worth what you paid for it.
LOL!
The Laws of Physics (and Chemistry) are not just good ideas.
Nor can 0bama modify them.
Did they live in the home that exploded?

Adam Collins with the Indianapolis Department of Code Enforcement says they have made 126 visual inspections - 80 properties suffered damage, 50 are considered to have minor damages. There are 31 homes labeled with major damages.
I wonder who lived in the house in this case? Seems too new for there to be an issue but with parts made in China, or really dumb workers installing things, who can be sure? Maybe some prepper's stash went off, or maybe Obama's bdy Ayers has been building bombs again..

Having seen the devastation of a natural gas explosion within a residential neighborhood, I would say this was a gas explosion.
The amage is very similar. Homes just disintegrate...
