WASHINGTON (AP) Two senators on opposite sides of the aisle are proposing comprehensive changes to the immigration laws that would include a pathway to citizenship for the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants now in the United States.
Democrat Chuck Schumer of New York and Republican Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who promoted similar proposals on separate Sunday news shows said that no path to citizenship would be available until the country's borders were secure.

But no budget.
The SC GOP love him. Duke Power loves him. Trial lawyers love him.
Fine... let’s bring in another 50 million Mexicans. Let’s send them into the cities so they can take all the jobs from Obama’s “base”.
Let’s see how Holder’s people like the result of that.
“Hannity is vastly, comically underqualified”
Seems like a nice guy. Probably fun to have a beer with, Butt,,,, you’re dead on! A policy nitwit! 8^)
If this happens, stick a fork in us...we’re done as a country.
How many times are we going to do this? What a joke this country is becoming. Why have borders and laws anyway?
“Democrat Chuck Schumer of New York and Republican Lindsey Graham of South Carolina”
Opposite sides of the aisle? I think not.
I heard that part of the show Friday as the wife and I left the shooting range after 2 hours shooting her Glock 17 and my HnK USP9 going through several HUNDRED rounds of ammunition.
Rush nailed it. If the Democrats are serious about this being a "compassion" issue for them they'd readily agree to not letting immigrants vote their first 25 years in this country.
Personally, I think it's a GREAT idea.
They don’t care about legacies or posterity as long as they get “theirs” now.
Any legislation that legalizes the status of those who broke our laws by entering our country illegally and allows them to stay and work here is amnesty. We must not only prevent the Democrats and some moderate Republicans from hijacking the meaning of the word amnesty, but the public must be made aware about the true impact of an amnesty. The Heritage Foundation concluded that the cost of amnesty would be $2.6 trillion just for increased entitlement program costs. And the number of additional LEGAL immigrants who would join those who were the recipients of amnesty through chain migration, i.e., family reunification, would approach 70 million over a 20-year period, assuming there are only 12 million illegal aliens. We cannot assimilate such numbers. An amnesty would destroy the United States of America with the stroke of a pen.
If the pubbies are gonna cave, they should at least get the wall completed so there is no reneging . Ya think?!
How about Trey Gowdy? That man has backbone!
The republic hasn’t been dead for a week, and here come the grave-robbers.
If democrats get to tax like they want, maybe business will haul tookus to Mexico? We will suffer but I bet many illegals here from south of the border will be heading home.
If amnesty happens, we are screwed.
they would be wise to stay away from the terminology, “path to citizenship.” I might listen to what they have to say if they talk about “Path to legalization”. If any are legalized, citizenship must be a distant possibility.
FYI: The Dems would love to take such a deal even if the courts would never permit such second-class citizenship.
No, I don’t think so. Their newly legalized kids would be able to vote in much less time than that. You would have to restrict not only them, but everyone else that they would bring with them for another 25 years. That is not going to happen. Also, even if the dems would agree to such terms initially, they would reneg at the first opportunity to do so. And finally, this would not halt illegal immigration at all. They would still be coming here illegally and probably at an increased pace.
So. if this amnesty does happen. We will effectually be forming a political union with Mexico and the reconquista will be complete.
reneg == renege
