FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 10, 2012
Race for Florida’s 18th Congressional District Remains Undecided Stuart, FL – Today West for Congress released the following statement regarding the state of the race in Florida’s 18th Congressional District:
“With all provisional and absentee votes counted in the 18th District, Congressman West currently trails by roughly 2,400 votes, a margin outside of the threshold for an automatic recount. The race remains undecided because there are issues that still need to be resolved in St. Lucie County. Late on Election Night, Congressman West led by 1,700 votes. Following the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections’ decision to recount thousands of early ballots after a technical glitch, the margin shifted by 4,000. In order to ensure that votes were not doubled counted, we have requested that the St. Lucie Supervisor of Elections make public the poll check-in books to ensure the numbers of ballots cast matches the numbers of voters checked-in at the polls. Once that information is provided we believe the outcome of the election will be clear. It is troubling that days later that information is still not available. Our sole focus is ensuring all ballots were counted fairly and accurately.”

I am sure someone is busy right now in some secret room making sure that everything looks right. Names and signatures can still be added to the books and made to look like they put there on election day. Ballots can be re-created as need be. It can all be fixed.

Late on Election Night, Congressman West led by 1,700 votes. Following the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections decision to recount thousands of early ballots after a technical glitch, the margin shifted by 4,000. On election night I was monitoring Drudge, which had a running count of the Florida presidential vote. Romney was leading. All of sudden, following an update, about 35,000 votes were removed from the Romney total. Anybody else see this?

“Now there is no recourse.”
Yes there is. He can take it to the House of Representatives, which is the sole judge of its membership.
The House can (and has in the past) decide whom to admit when there were ballot issues.
Usually the party with the majority decides to admit their fellow party member; but the point is, the House can decide whom to admit.

I didn’t see that. Maybe it is related to the shenanigans in St. Lucie County somehow.
..................
Walker said the ballots in question were from a group of more than 37,000 early votes cast in the race. Most of the early ballots were counted shortly after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Walker said. But she said some of the ballots were on memory cards that could not initially be uploaded onto tabulating machines. Those ballots were counted later in the evening, she said.
I dont have any problem recounting ballots, said Walker, but she said shell have to wait for a judges ruling. If it was my decision, Id say, Hey, when? because I have no problem. But we have to follow the law and the law does not give the (canvassing) board discretion to make a decision to recount.

......................
And now she’s decided that she will recount those ballots again tomorrow (see post #9) after claiming she has no such authority to do so without a court order. This is the SECOND time she will have recounted the early ballots. The first recount flipped the election by 4,000 votes and gave it to Murphy. Neither time has there been a court order.

Note that the both totals here are inaccurate, and that the %turnout should be higher.

I’m not sure I understand what you are saying? The amount of registered voters for that day was 175,554 and they supposedly had 247,713 votes cast which is 141% or over 100% of actual voters listed as registered.
What do you see incorrect?

No — that is incorrect.
If that was the issue don’t you think that Col West would say so in his just released statement.
Instead he is taking direct aim at the source of the fraud — the 4000 votes that were mysteriously discovered after the official count. Read his statement. It says nothing about 141% voter turnout.
Voter turnout in St Lucie was 71% not 141% as hundreds on this site have been misinformed and are misinforming others:

The numbers do not add up to the totals. I checked the one’s columns, since the total % seemed low, given the precinct %s.

The “picture” you posted is not evidence of vote fraud or over-voting. Look at it closely, the percentages are in reference to “cards cast” by registered voters. Each voter was given two cards, each card was for different items on the ballot (for example, card #1 had items 1-10, card #2 had items 11-20) They were not duplicate cards. You couldn’t vote for the same thing twice.
