There is hardly an issue about which Germans as so united as they are by their desire to see America on its knees. It unites both the left and the right. Wherever they look, they see decay, a lack of culture and ignorance.
The criticism of America has always been a bit infantile. One is familiar with the theory from psychoanalysis, when people talk about transference, or when suppressed feelings or emotions are overcome by projecting them onto others.
The childish excitement over Obama, that once again took hold over Germans during this electionfully 93 percent of the country would have voted for him in this electionis the flip side of this desire for America's demise. That the Germans, of all people, should see themselves in a black civil rights attorney from Chicago can only be explained by the fact that they see him as the opposite of what they consider to be normal Americans.

Krauts seem to have a thing for authoritarian narcissists.
White guilt, German strain.
Germans have always been attracted to men who give good speeches.
They luv him, they can have him. Or maybe they just luv the fact that Obama is trying to bring us to our knees?
Or they see O as facilitating the first sentence of the story.
Ich bin ein Baracker
Apparently this whole thing is true of countries around the world.
No, I’m against that. Precisely what Germany wants. Obama may do that anyway, but for the pretense of “peace” more than anything.
Preferably ones with vertical sides.
Germany’s Europe rejects capitalism and under the Treaty of Lisbon has adopted instead “social market economy”. This is a form of fascism, a branch of socialism. So when Germans think that Obama’s electoral victory is something that leads the US towards further decline, are they telling us that they are ahead of us in economic decline?
Barack Obama braces his muscles next to me. |
Why not? With Obama in charge, we aren't going to do good anyway and the Europeans need to shoulder the costs of their own military defense, such as it is. Withdrawing is against the concept of the US as a superpower who guarantees world stability, but those days have passed with Dear Leader in charge. If anything, he is busy destabilizing countries and spreading the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamists with US power.
For years, I had a plastic bag from Maxi-Mart in Böblingen that had a picture of a young woman on it that stated:
"Ich bin doch kein Blöd!"
Which translates to
"I'm sure no fool!"
Just because Pandora says she can handle the cost of keeping the box does not mean you leave her alone with it to open it.
Deep in the Germanic DNA there is a love of dictators and a desire to subjugate ‘inferiors’. Of course they would admire and support the Fuhrer’s student. He learned much from pre-WW2 Germany. Its a deep-rooted love of power and control.
To hell with em-—again.
