LT. COL. RALPH PETERS: The timing is just too perfect for the Obama administration. Just as the administration claimed it was purely coincidence that our Benghazi consulate was attacked on the anniversary of September 11th. Now it’s purely coincidence that this affair -- extra-marital affair -- surfaces right after the election, not before, but right after, but before the intelligence chiefs go to Capitol Hill to get grilled. As an old intelligence analyst, Neil, the way I read this -- I could be totally wrong, this is my interpretation -- is that the administration was unhappy with Petraeus not playing ball 100% on their party-line story. I think it's getting cold feet about testifying under oath on their party-line story. And I suspect that these tough Chicago guys knew about this affair for a while, held it in their back pocket until they needed to play the card.

I have read that he will not & also speculation (?) that 0 was running guns through Libya (which would explain the murders at the embassy). Regardless, he’s really clearing out the men at the top. (afraid of a coup?)

I think, inasmuch as he seemed to be doing well under Bush, that things started to unravel after the Kenyan Marxist too the WH last round..When the Gen had his tryst would be interesting. In any event, when the General agreed with the change in the ROE, the 0bama Chicago thugs had the goods on his affair and used it to get a General who one would think would not agree to this did...then this disaster...I think he has been blackmailed for some time by the Kenyan Marxist and now something in him has brought him to a “Come To Jesus” moment...something in his military ethos will not let him lie any longer. I hope he blows the whole thing wide open and that it will lead, before the Immauguation Day ceremony, to Impeachment of the Kenyan Marxist, Biden, Clinton, Panetta et al and lead them past the Do Not Pass Go line other than the one that places them firmly in the slammer for years for high crimes.
The hearts and mind approach cost us heavily, there is no arguing that, but we aren’t the Russians. They tried the Iron Fist approach and look at the results. They engaged in this territory with savage brutality but it got them nowhere and cost them tremendously. They achieved no more victory than us with open ROE and zero accountability.
In Afghanistan, even if we rode in on unicorns that farted money and virgins, we would still be seen as invaders. We are foreigners in every sense of the word. The Taliban, even at their worst, are still viewed as their brothers. They are still their countrymen. I understand why Petraeus tried his approach, but it’s naive to continue when it is so costly and ineffective. Does anyone know what we are doing there anymore?
I found this HBO (dont gag) documentary last weekend on the war in Afghanistan. It’s worth a watch and delves heavily into your point about winning hearts and minds. It’s tough to watch but it places you there on the ground with Marines and pulls no punches. It’s brutal, thrilling, heart breaking, and awe inspiring. It is also totally R rated.

It’s videos like this, and many others on youtube, that solidify my respect for the sacrifice of our Military. It also reminds me that we do not turn our backs on those who serve our Country and we cannot allow Benghazi to go away without answers and accountability.

I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night so I couldn’t possibly know... but I did spend 28 years in Uniform and I do know that this little dagger that Petraeus is falling on now is magnified 10X (or more) in the Media to make it look like a Sword... it is an illusion or distraction... the who, what and why is yet to be determined and will probably never be known to any others than the few that are engaged in this particular game.
Also Petraeus is way too powerful for Zero to just let go peacefully to pasture... he knows far too much and has many allies and if he had somehow been forced to put his Queen at risk... Zero has lot’s of people to take care of things while he plays Golf but recently he has stepped into a different realm and I predict (quite sure of it) he is going to fall far ... far short of the task ... Biden can’t / won’t last either so President Boehner?

Patraeus is the consummate military General. He doesn’t get to pick his boss. You and I do and if we elect a commie SOB, that becomes his boss.
I agree. Petraius put himself in a spot to be a pawn for Obama’s cabal at election time’ With all the military that I’ve seen shilling for Obama this might have even been a setup. I go back to how Obama got rid of a competitor when he ran for Illinois Senator. He is an old dog with old dirty tricks dropped by his Alinsky upbringing. Of course this doesn’t say much for Petraius who should have been wise enough to jump ship instead of being a pawn.
