Most of us are, by now, familiar with the maps the TV channels and web sites use to show the results of presidential elections. Here is a typical map of the results of the 2012 election:
Now the effects we saw at the state level are even more pronounced: the red areas appear overwhelmingly in the majority, an appearance again at odds with the actual results of the election. Again, we can make a more helpful respresentation by using a cartogram. Here is what the cartogram looks like for the county-level election returns:
One way to improve the map and reveal more nuance in the vote is to use not just two colors, red and blue, but to use red, blue, and shades of purple in between to indicate percentages of votes. Here is what the normal map looks like if you do this:
More weird maps at link................
Utah, Nebraska, and Oklahoma look like safe bets.
Dang, Fla and Texas are starting to turn Blue :(
I have a hard time believing that one would vote for Obama and then turn around and vote for a republican congressman.
The Mexican side of Texas is blue because illegals vote in those counties. The Injustice Dept. sued so that TX could not institute its new Voter I D law, because Holder and Obama want illegals to vote for the Democrats. That cost the TX legislature 5 seats and denies Republicans the super-majority that made the Voter ID law possible in the last session.
No wonder White Texans despise Obama.
That’s why I always tell people to stand and fight rather than fleeing to somewhere else.
As a Michigander, there’s something very satisfying about making them fight for every inch.
NO, those in Texas are very open unpopulasted areas that are influenced by indiand reservations I believe. As for Florida, it’s actually still slowly turning red.
Remember, they STOLE OUR VOTES! They took massive republican votes and awarded them to obama and his fellow cohorts from the left in the city strongholds.
Do not allow anyoine to tell you otherwise, the evidence is overwhelming that they stole the election.

I was thinking that the minority dominated cities need some serious action. After all, they’re doing exactly what the post civil war south was accused of.
Florida has Tallahassee, Gainesville, Orlando-Tampa-St. Petersburg corridor, Palm beach-Ft.Lauderdale-Miami-Dade to contend with..........
According to some of the crazy posts lately, we need to boycott Texas. It’s BLUE! Well, parts are.
Has Florida officially come in for Obama?
Bookmarked.
Not ‘officially’.....
Wrong, those arewas in Texas are always democrat, as for Florida, it is actually still turning Republican.
Remember, they STOLE THIS ELECTION! They stole it in the city strongholds of liberalism where they stole republican votes and awarded them to Democrats.
If anything, this map is just another example of the overwhelming evidence that proves my point.
We may never ever be able to win a presidential election again, but watch us kick ass in the off year alections as we did in 2010.
Remember, every state that had voter ID Romney won, we need to get that loaw in every state possible.
There’s the fertile ground.
No wonder White Texans despise Obama.
That is highly disturbing. If Texas falls, this country - what will be left of it after another 4 years of Obama's destruction - will truly die.
Definitely a bizarre election.
Obama is crediting the unions but here in Michigan, they gave more votes to Debbie Stabenow than Obama and we crushed the union ballot proposals and kept every single congressional district (and McCotters district went tea party)
