Hey, my post crossed paths with yours, and how ironic we both used “game the system”.
I have seen & heard about so many scams the nonworking and lazy come up. More time spent on figuring out ways to scam than to just work.
One that has been more popular is selling their public housing to friends & relatives. Person A’s name comes up to receive public housing, she sells it to Person B under the table. Housing authorities don’t check & don’t care who moves in. Person A gets food stamps & assistance in one county, Person B gets assistance in next county over, they hit the churches & food pantries ea week, and “share” the kiddies as proof they need the help.
I’m not sure people who work understand just how much it occurs. It’s the rule, not the exception.
WOW. I never heard of that one, but I was pretty naive when I saw the scams I did see.
I also went to a project (a white lady in red sports car, very intelligent decision, right?) where I was asked to meet an employee who had relatives. The guy said he “told them I was coming” so I and my car were safe.
All of them worked for the City and between them they made huge money, (I had access to payroll info) but they still chose to live together in the project, because that’s all they knew.
So where did all the spare money go? They had more of it than I did, that’s for sure, with free benefits included. But everywhere there was nothing but gray, broken glass and mismatched furniture. Not one green thing in sight and no sign of anything in the least upscale. Again, where was the money going? The modern day plantation?
Eye opening.

Years ago, I had a conversation with a fellow who was on the public assistance rolls in 4 states. His “work month” was travelling to the 4 cities to collect the bennies. Chicago, Columbus, Louisville and Indianapolis. Sharp business accumen. How does this happen or are the elites in charge just that dim? Fraud? What fraud?
