Since he is obviously being punished for political expediency, using the excuse of his making the Mohammed video, the lie to Americans is that he is being punished for probation violation, but the lie to Muslims is that he is being punished for insulting Islam.

So the way someone could run with this is to take the lie to Muslims at face value, but then tell Muslims that “Muslims are outraged(tm) over his light punishment.”

“He is getting less than a year for *insulting the prophet*(tm)!”

“The Americans think insulting Islam(tm) is a petty offense!”

etc.

This would defeat the political expediency of tossing him in the jug for a year, and refocus things on his being imprisoned for his speech, defeating the other lie as well.

Remember the judge in this case ruled that he was a public danger because he had a nearly million dollar Fatwa on his head. This made him a flight risk and general public risk.
