The American flag at the Follansbee McDonald's is flying at half-staff and upside down today. Someone at the restaurant told one of our reporters this was "the owner's decision." What are your thoughts?

My thoughts are that the people he is aiming at have no clue what it means apart from it is upside down.

I'm not trying to talk you or anyone else into following my example. Do what suits your heart and your mind. But don't let things make you sick. I understand that and am not at all happy but I didn't choose this path and I will be happy and proud of who I am and what I believe in. The moochers are beneath my regard to allow their selfishness to destroy my well being.
If the Nation is not in distress at this pont in time, I do not know when it will be in distress.

No no no. You clearly don’t understand how the franchise business models works. The customers belong to McDonalds, he gets to pay significant amounts of money up front to have the right to build a building according to their rules, buy supplies according to their rules, prepare them according to their rules, and sell the end result at their prices to THEIR customers. And for the troubles he gets to keep the profit. Assuming he never violates enough of their rules to have them yank his franchise and turn it into a corporate store which they’ll eventually sell to someone else. The life of a franchise owner is about doing what you’re told, the Operations Maintenance and Training Manual you can find in every store tells you how to do everything, it even sets wage scales for your various job titles. And one of the things in there is you don’t get to make political statements with their logo.

I love patriotism. I just prefer the kind of patriotism that gets stuff accomplished. I understand his sentiment, I just think he should have thought through the consequences. And I feel bad for his employees, everything I heard in my fastfood days was working in a corporate store sucks, all the annoying rules are strictly enforced because corporate stores are oriented to keeping the image not to making a profit.
I burned mine (had several flying on Tahoe, wind-ripped, reflecting the broken nation).
So having run out of facts you go with repeating yourself with insults. Heed your own advice, give up, the facts don’t back you, and you know that, which is why you aren’t using any.
We have two flags.
Before the Obozo was elected 4 years ago, I raised and mounted the everyday each day with the exception of holidays.
On certain Holidays like the 4th of July, I flew a more expensive and larger flag.
Since Nov 4 years ago, I don’t fly the everyday flag.
I will now fly my special flag upside down. The first day will be Nov 11.
