If you are not familiar with the Forth Turning, this is a good introduction to the generational theory behind it. I do think the theory has some merit, especially considering how the boomers have transformed society in their lifetimes. We may have to wait until they die to recover.
My main disagreement with this article is calling Obama a generation X'er. He isn't, he is still a baby boomer. Obama's re-election means he is not the transformational leader he thinks he is. He is the last leader of the Great Society-New Deal wave. And the crisis must continue until we see our Prophets rising. They will be of the Gen-X/Millenial generation.

All I see here are unsubstantiated claims heaped upon bold assertions. Upon what factual basis are these claims by Strauss & Howe made? In other words: How do they come by their special knowledge? Do they possess a crystal ball? An unerring ability to interpret sacred scriptures - and what sacred scriptures? The Book of Mormon, the Bhagavad-Gita, or what?
It would be nice if these things would be spelled out before we, the readers, have to wade through this mountain of pronouncements.

(Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.)

The regeneracy of the nation will occur during the next presidential term. There will be no 'regeneracy of the nation' during this next presidential term, if the author has pegged Obama rightly as a "Nomad". According to the author's own supposition, such regeneracy only occurs under a "Prophet"...

All good stuff. I thought we might be choosing a peaceful path out of this crisis a few years early, but that was not to be. Now it looks like we’re going to ride this one all the way down, just like with FDR, until something like a WW-III comes along.
