The regeneracy of the nation will occur during the next presidential term.

There will be no 'regeneracy of the nation' during this next presidential term, if the author has pegged Obama rightly as a "Nomad". According to the author's own supposition, such regeneracy only occurs under a "Prophet"...

You are correct that Obama is not a "prophet" in Forth Turning lingo. He is the defender of the status quo New Deal liberalism, so by definition he can't be. And because of his election, I think we are still not very close to the end of the tunnel, we have quite a ways to go down.

But in this Forth Turning view of society, the president is not the only possible leader. Prophets can arise in the second Obama term, anywhere in the population, and we may be able to see them, but they will not be in power yet. They will be GenXers and Millennials. In fact, they would almost have to be outside the current power structure, but will keep building power bases throughout this administration, and maybe the next. Think of how the boomer generation started out rejecting the society of their parents, and then went on to gain hold of the power for that generation, like the Clintons, or Bill Ayers.

I believe you misunderstood this part.

Lincoln was despised by half the country and not exactly loved by everyone in the North. FDR’s popular support progressively declined during his four terms in office. It is the Fourth Turning events, not the nation, which elevates the person to the apex of power. The regeneracy of the nation will occur during the next [the subsequent] presidential term.
He is not saying that the regeneracy will begin during the 2012 term. 2012-2016 will be like the continuing period of FDR's declining popularity and the nation's deepening gloom, and the regeneracy will not begin until after this bleak period runs its course, perhaps interrupted only by another World War sort of event.
