I am starting to wonder.... it looks like a significant number of Republicans stayed home, according to what I have read here on FR. If that is the case, I am wondering about the "Mormon" thing. Perhaps voting for a Mormon was just too much for many Republicans, so they sat this one out? Curious numbers coming out of this election...
Hell -- look what happened right here on FreeRepublic. I understand why he did it, but the founder of this site was adamant that he'd never support Romney as recently as a few months ago. Most people here fell into line down the stretch, for obvious reasons ... but the tightening of this race in recent weeks (since the first debate, really) helped mask the fact that a lot of Romney's support was lukewarm at best.
I’m not even sure we didn’t win! How’s about that?

Perhaps the Geriatric Old Plotters can run a culture of death, statist, gay activist Hare Krishna next time and do better?
I find it hard to believe that fewer people voted for Romney than for McCain. The Romney enthusiasm this year was far, far greater than the lukewarm McCain attitude in ‘08. I was not a Romney fan in the primaries, but supported him fully as a candidate. I know many people with the same attitude. I also saw a drop in enthusiasm for 0bama since ‘08.
I am not living in a conservative echo chamber. I know huge numbers of liberals and the enthusiasm for 0bama was not there.
So the numbers are difficult to believe.
