I believe that, by your hand, this great country was born - that we are a country founded on Christian principles, by Christians. But, we have turned our backs on you and those principles:
- we have driven you from our schools and public buildings, calling it "separation" of church and state (even though our Founders held church meetings in the Capitol Building and financed the printing of Bibles)
- we have killed the most innocent, in the name of "choice" (even though, in doing so, we neglect the choice of the only one that has none)
- we have stepped further and further away from your standards and called it "progressing"
- we have ignored your warnings to turn back to you
- more and more, we call right wrong, and wrong right.
So, Lord, as we face this all-important election of the leader of the free world, we ask for your mercy. I know that sometimes you give people and nations what they deserve, and we have no right to ask for anything less. But, in your lovingkindness and mercy, you often give people and nations what is best for them.
It is that lovingkindness and mercy that we ask for, that we cry for, today. There is an all-to-silent majority of people in this country who love America, who know you, love you, and trust in you. You would have saved Sodom and Gomorrah if there had been only 10 righteous people there. Will you not do the same today?
Lord, regardless of the outcome, you will still be Lord of all, and we will worship you only.
I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
After I cast my ballot today I prayed. I don’t do that very often.
Father, we thank You that Mitt Romney is our President, Paul Ryan is our Vice-President, that the Republican Party is in the majority in both the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives, that the wicked is taken away from before our government and that it is established in righteousness, in Jesus’ Name, AMEN!
Amen....and thank you for posting this.
Amen to your heartfelt, passionate prayer for America!
Amen
First let me give thanks that we survived the storm and that we have our power back,
And I pray for the mercy of God and his son Jesus our savior and redeemer that we will rid the white house of that communist Obama!
Amen, jda.
Thanks so much for your prayer.
This is in God's hands. Put your total trust in Him!
Amen!
My husband prayed for our country and the wisdom of our electorate for a hour this morning in our church’s adoration chapel. The kids and I also said prayers this morning.
One nation Under God.
Bless us, Lord
Amen to a beautiful prayer. Thank you.
That’s a beautiful prayer, but it made me cry because you are too right and I can only hope that God gives us another chance.
Amen to that.
Haven't lost heart yet, though the apparent loss of Wisconsin to the Obamaites is a blow to the spirit. And the apparent loss of Richard Mourdock in Indiana.
At times like this I am reminded of the late Rev Falwell's comments that are echoed in your prayer. I.e., Falwell suggested that we may have to suffer God's judgment for the terrible sin of millions of aborted babies.
Falwell was viciously attacked for this statement, although it was simply Biblical truth. I was not a follower of his, still I respected his goodness and his wisdom.
Lord, please give us strength to deal with whatever comes, and to live righteously in Your eyes.
While you are praying, say one for Bob Dole who has been hospitalized.
