1) Wife voted early (last week). Very long line.
2) I voted this morning, ~0900. Waited in > 1 hour line. This is unusually long for rural WV.
Election emphasis is on local/state elections. Very few presidential stickers/signs out.
I assume you are in a high Democrat Precinct? We had no wait in Eagle Rock, Calif. We are definitely in a Obama Precinct of Los Angeles.
I’m not sure the exact population of California, but it’s around 35 million.
If the Republicans who used to live in California had remained and fought with the rest of us, California wouldn’t be so bad today.
Most issues are decided with less than a five million vote spread. Cut that in half and add one, and our side would prevail.
I’ll bet we lost five million Republicans over time. If they were here and helped, that means we could win the majority of issues.
Our communities, cities, counties, regions, and state would be so much better.
So would the nation. Today Romney will lose 55 electoral votes out of the gate. That’s a real shame.
With California in the R camp, guess who wins federal elections.
“Walked into my precinct and right up to my table, no line.
Was processed right through.”
Is that the norm in a presidential election where you are?
The precinct I am in is heavily Obama for manifold reasons of blind obeisance. If the turnout is scant here I think the Indonesian madrasa candidate is toast for sure, and the Mexican chicken ranch product is a lock.
This is why democrats fight so hard against voter ID laws, so that they the democrat/communists can steal elections and commit voter fraud as they are doing. We have to report this to the GOP.
People, saying you had a long line or a short line means NOTHING if you don’t also say your locale is an Obama locale or a McCain locale from 2008.
What this is all about is to find out if the long lines and big numbers are in GOP areas vs Dem areas.
A post “I went to vote and there were long lines and I’ve never seen them so long before” doesn’t say anything unless you tell us you’re in a heavy GOP or heavy Dem area.
I very seldom have to stand in line more than five deep. If I pick off peak hours like I did today, I just walk right in and vote.
The people having to go to another table, had about ten in line this morning. They were from a different district than I am.
I’m sure there are worse lines around 6:30-7:30 and 17:30-18:30
That is sad, especially in such a high stakes state. I do not understand such a lack of motivation as a norm. Elections are usually well attended here. Politics are not quite as festive and passionate as football, but close. Not this time, but there is still a lot of grim determination if not so much joy.
It took me three tries because of the weather, lines and very limited parking.
The first time I went, on Monday, it was rainy and I figured no one would be there — Wrong! They were lined up out the door and about a block down the street.
I tried again on Tuesday, same result.
Wednesday it was fairly light. I went earlier this time and experienced hardly any wait. On all three occassions I was amazed by what appeared to be the mixed make-up of the folks waiting in line.
My son voted on Thursday and waited for about 30 minutes. He said that the people in line looked like your regular TEA Partiers!
I voted in rural southern WV this morning around 10:30 a.m. The poll workers reported “steady” voting throughout the morning. I had to wait 20 minutes to vote which is VERY VERY rare in this very small precinct and very rural part of the state. Normally, you can go right up, sign in and vote. Romney will win WV by at least 15 points but that’s no news to any FReepers. There are VERY VERY few Obama supporters in coal country but for some reason the locals are clinging onto Dems Manchin, Tomblin and Rahal.
I agree. It is important. I will tell you though, after living here, I’m not as big a complainer when Leftists aren’t motivated to vote. And when the vote totals go down here, I believe it’s the Left that stays home more than the Republicans.
I grew up in Man, W.Va. and now live in Winfield, W.Va.
Hello fellow freeper. we are kicking some blue dog arse
today.
We’ve got to bust up that viper’s nest in Charleston so
we can live in peace.
Rease and Malloney would be a great start but for now
a big uphill battle. The Lord willin’.

Northern panhandle here...voted last week with my Mom. My daughters came home from college (Morgantown) to vote today as well as my hubby. He was the 4th to vote at 6;35am . Record breaking early voting in the 10 day span.
That rat bastard Manchin has a lot of people buffaloed ... I'm appalled that the NRA would give the back of its hand to NRA Life Member John Raese, whilst endorsing Harry Reid's bitch.
Hello fellow southern WV Freeper. Yes, Romney is kicking big time Obama $%# today in “Coal Country” and across West Virginia. When the polls close at 7:30 Mitt WILL BE declared the winner of this state. He will win by at least 15 points. Remember, this is county block in southern WV that voted for Keith Judd over Obama in the Dem primary. Remember the Texas prisoner? Obama’s War on Coal in WV is real and people have finally woke up. Senator Manchin is a Democratic Party hack and so is Gov. Tomblin. Remember, Manchin ENDORSED Obama in ‘08 and was an Obama super delegate. Don’t be fooled by Joe’s games.
