The town's ~25-odd registered voters all gather to cast their ballots at midnight, and the polls are closed one minute later. Then the votes are counted.
Gop at 83 percent of last time...Dem at 33 percent of last time.
An 80+ post thread about Dixville Notch at Midnight has got to be a record for Free Republic. Who’s ready for a wild Election Day? :)
Gay friendly Dixville Notch
Huh huh huh.
Palin: Well pretty much as I predicted, except that the Silly party won. Er, I think this is largely due to the number of votes cast. Gerald.
Chapman: Well there's a big swing here to the Silly Party, but how big a swing I'm not going to tell you.
Palin: I think one should point out that in this constituency since the last election a lot of very silly people have moved into new housing estates with the result that a lot of sensible voters have moved further down the road the other side of number er, 29.
LOL
I cut a persimmon open the other day at the farm and found a spoon. The old Cherokees back home at Copic Slab tell me that means we will be shoveling snow this winter.
‘Course they also tell me that if the frog croaks through the ice we are in for six more weeks of winter. I still have not figured out how those dang frogs muster up enough energy to croak through the ice!
Persimmons have a spoon, a fork or a knife in them. A knife means ice storms. We still haven’t figured out what the fork thing means. Maybe to eat the persimmon? We are making up all this lore as we go. Taking suggestions.
Dixville notch, how bout carhartt notch?
Seems they lean more Rat than the country as a whole. Obama did win last time, but not by as huge a margin as Dixville Notch had.
Yeah Im waiting for Obama to magically feel the need to itch his nose again, with his middle finger while talking about Romney..just like he did in 2008 when he talked about McCain and Hillary Clinton
Rigged, I tell you. Rigged!
WAR EAGLE!
Actually, on that note, big thanks to John and Jim for apparently finding a way to make FR stable for tomorrow.
Why not just flip a coin?
Rather meaningless, now, with all of the early voting going on the country. These people are not actually the first ones in the country to vote now, are they?
Considering it has less than half the actual voters of 2008, odds are pretty good that those remaining are there for government checks.
First ones to get counted
what did they do, pour some valium into the framistat?
You found my moose ?
Yes, thanks for the efforts.
“21 voters in 2008 and only 10 in 2012? Have BOs policies wrecked Dixville Notch so bad that half of them have moved away?”
I assume we can safely say they would have voted for Romney.
