The town's ~25-odd registered voters all gather to cast their ballots at midnight, and the polls are closed one minute later. Then the votes are counted.
A heavily dem area just by looking at the Governor race?
Bingo!
My nephew, a die-hard lib, just put this on FB:
Results of Arizonas early ballot has Romney leading with 71% of the votes so far. Ugh.
In other words, a blow out for Romney in one of the most left leaning states of the country!
I was trying to point out that Romney got 5 votes, vs McCain’s 6...or 83 percent of his turnout....while Oama’s turnout dropped from 15 to 5, or 33 percent of his turnout. There is an enthusiasm gap in Dixville Notch.
So sad they don’t have any news service out there in Hart’s DisLocation.
Isn’t Arizona a red state that McCain easily took in 2008?
Hart’s Location & Dixville Notch
President (2012)
Obama (D) 28 (63.7%) D+.3%
Romney(R) 14 (31.9%) R+.1%
Johnson (L)2 (4.5% O-.5%
President (2008)
Obama (D) 32 (64.0%)
Romney (R) 16 (32.0%)
Other (I) 2 (4%)
This is huge and series.
Strange 5 to 5
Yeah AZ is a fairly red state. They have open carry for instance lol.
Harts:
Obama was 58% in 2008 and 68% in 2012
It was 5 to 5. I don’t understand where you are getting your info.
well, yes--it's McCain's state... i don't know how easily he took it... probably easy enough... and it's a solid Romney state...
Yea Romney ran in 2008 too!!
So sad Romney underperformed McCain.
:)
Obaa was 58% in 2008 and 68% in 2012
Rut roh!
Looks like I had bad data, nevermind.
yeah... but if i remember correctly, Bush never won these little counts either...
Hmmm... I thought AZ had alot of retired shriveled up movie star types, OK, maybe they are Red.
Well, thats a good thing. Hopefully the Southwest region can keep it up!
My curiosity is about the differences when a state has a huge mail-in type of system versus a regular vote-on-election day thing.
NH might not exactly be a lock for Romney. lol
Surely you jest and it takes more than that to fascinate you!
Robin Olds, what a character and crusty old bastard. I met a guy the other day who flew with him on his first orientation sortie over Vietnam.
The boys are being pressured not to have their mustaches in combat zones these days. Did you know that? It is a tradition that should live on for morale. The world and the USAF has become far to short of characters.
“The town’s ~25-odd registered voters...”
Not strange, but odd.
