The town's ~25-odd registered voters all gather to cast their ballots at midnight, and the polls are closed one minute later. Then the votes are counted.
2008
Obama 15 (71.4%)
McCain 6 (28.6%)
2012
Obama 5 (50.0%)
Romney 5 (50.0%)
A 21.4% swing toward Romney. May this continue tomorrow!
Dixville Notch votes are in. Analysis included.
POLL PING.
Romney gets 5, Obama gets 5.
Should be noted that for Congress it was GOP 6, DEM 3, IND 1 and for Gov it was GOP 7, DEM 3
Yes but inbreeding is not a good thing :)
I am ashamed to be a NH resident tonight. Hopefully the rest of the state won’t be so STUPID!!!!
Good post!
Being a NH resident for the time being I hope these people get it right.
I found it interesting that the Obama campaign came out and told supporters to ignore early exit polls in that they might be low for Obama and to get out and vote. I wonder what that was about. They expect to lose at this stage? Setting up the scenario of having better than expected early exit polling?
The ten others who voted for Obama in 2008 did what many Democrats will this year “They Stayed Home”
The other 11 voters were wrecked by the Obama economy.
good analysis
“Ill bet they got together before hand and planned a tie for president.”
That was my first thought too. Then my second thought was CNN paid them each $500 to rig it to 1) make for a better story and 2) to jibe with their national polls (also rigged).
2012 General Election - National Results for Hart’s Location
President/Vice President
Barack Obama/Joe Biden (D) 23
Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan (R) 9
Gary Johnson/James Gray (L) 2
Virgil Goode/James Clymer (C) 0
are you being serious?
Posting hasn’t ever been real quick.
Thanks for the update.
Isn’t it a little outdated to call them first with the early voting? Maybe in future election years, Dixville Notch will all vote early one day in advance just to beat Hart’s Location out.
Can’t think of the name, but your description makes me think of that movie with “REDRUM” and “Heeeeer’s Johnny.”
Sorry but not liking this at ALL.
White guilt is in full force in 2012 again I see.
Idiots! Oh well..I still say Romney wins New Hampshire
I think of it as a romantic edge on historic politics.
It’s pretty cool actually.
As you said, it means nothing of substance.
It’s still kind of a right of passage every four years.
I enjoy it.
