The town's ~25-odd registered voters all gather to cast their ballots at midnight, and the polls are closed one minute later. Then the votes are counted.

Isn’t that the same thing... an upset victory?
Democrats get to stick their feet in their mouth dozens of times, never quite disavowing it, and still garner scads of votes. Akin stuck his foot in his mouth once, and then publicly took it back out. It ought to have been end of story.
