The US SEALs had laser capability and for 5 hours and 15 minutes were wondering when the air support would show up. But it never came.
Tyrone Woods begged for air support on 9-11 before his death. It never came. FOX News reported:
Sources who have debriefed the team that was at the CIA annex the night of the attack in Benghazi say that the CIA operators from the Global Response Staff, or GRS, were equipped with Mark 48 machine guns and had two types of laser capability. Each weapon had both a passive as well as a visible laser that could be used against the Libyan attackers.
The presence of laser capability on the roof of the CIA annex confirms what Fox News sources that night in Benghazi originally said, which is that they had laser capability and for 5 hours and 15 minutes were wondering where the usual overhead air support was, especially since, according to this source, they radioed from the annex beginning as early as midnight asking for it.
The presence of lasers raises more questions about why air support was not sent to Benghazi even protectively once it became clear that the fighting had followed the CIA rescue team back to the annex.

A PEQ is not a GLD.
I’m sure this highly esteemed individual is on your Romney list also: General H. Norman Schwarzkopf
The Press and “journalists” have been indoctrinated and taught that their mission is to bring about “Social Justice” and “fairness”, not provide objective data and information. The so-called “Chicago School” of journalism does this by “comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comfortable”, or some such language.

Have we all just decided that these were active duty SEALS?
Spectre is normaly the platform used as lead and cover for these types of missions. Spectre was on station or Woods would not have painted the target. The laser has to sync up with the weapon system on the AC-130U. He would not stop laying down fire to expose his position unless he was in communication. Someone gave the order for the platform to stand down. One day we will find that crew and get the truth.
No. They weren’t. But some people have difficulty making the distinction and do not realize that spies and those who work for spy agencies often do not have anyone to bail them out of sticky situations and that the public rarely hears about such events. We never would have heard about this if an ambassador had not been involved. Since an ambassador was involved, the president should have done everything to rescue all of the Americans in the line of fire that night. But it appears no one was thinking about the fallout of having four dead Americans including an ambassador. Maybe things would have been different if the ambassador had been taken out of the burning/smoke-filled building and taken to the annex/spookhouse.
There are so many questions about that night and the lead up to that night. Little security. Security taken away. No equipment for the ambassador and Sean Smith to be able to deal with fire or smoke within the safe room or whatever it’s called. No adequate escape plan. Etc. Why did our president have our ambassador and state department employees in Benghazi with such inadequate protection? I am sure all four of the men who died knew of the risks involved.
Americans do not like it when their own government gives them the Baghdad Bob treatment. The preposterous video story was laughable. Do we have no one more creative to come up with an adequate explanation for a bunch of radical Muslims attacking a US mission housing a US ambassador with inadequate security and with a bunch of spies living there and even more spies living a mile or so away? But the executive branch is not informing the American people what our objectives are in the Middle East. Are we spreading freedom? What is the end game?
Something else to think about. We are constantly sending armed drones into Pakistani air space and hitting targets with the Pakistan goverment protesting but we still do it. We sent a Seal team in with stealth aircraft so they would not be alerted and they protested but we still did it and this is a country with nuclear weapons. So what was so important we could not risk it in Libya with a questionable government?
If “The US SEALs” weren’t involved, then we need to quit reporting that they were.
One of the four was an Air Force veteran but we don’t keep reporting that the “US Air Force” was there, because of him.
There are no former or ex SEALs as there are no former Marines.
Good point!
Of course there are, and don’t start trying to drag ex-SEALS and ex-Air Force into that high school word game.
The AN/PEQ15 is not used to identify targets for missiles or bombs.
Correct, but if a PEQ is pointing at a specific target, the IR and Visible sensors of a Predator or an AC-130 will easily identify that target.
It's much better than saying “that 3rd Toyota truck on the right with 6 guys around it”...:^)
