The Talk Shows
November 4th, 2012
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Rich Beeson, political director for Romney's campaign; David Axelrod, adviser to Obama's re-election campaign.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): David Plouffe, adviser to President Barack Obama; Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Political analysts.
Schieffer posted this on his blog Saturday: We're not talking to either side this Sunday. Instead, I'm going to go to some very smart people on two different panels. I want to see what they think, see if together we can find any trends. My guess is they probably don't have any more answers than I do, but we'll find out for sure on Sunday. Harvard's David Gergen, National Review's Rich Lowry, Vanity Fair's Dee Dee Myers, The Wall Street Journal's Peggy Noonan and our own John Dickerson will start us off. Then, we'll breakdown the numbers behind a 2012 victory with Democratic pollster Anna Greenberg, Republican strategist Leslie Sanchez, Rothenberg Political Report's Stu Rothenberg, University of Virginia's Larry Sabato and CBS News Elections Director Anthony Salvanto.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Plouffe; Ed Gillespie, adviser to Mitt Romney's presidential campaign.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel; Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio.
No way mr. shadow.
These polls have been screwed up from the start.
To begin with all the enthusiasm is with us! Do you recall recent crowds in Ohio where its 2,800 for obama and 30,000 for us!! All that counts.
Voter enthusiasm is on our side.
last time it was all theirs.
Many of these poll are plus 6 or 8 for the dems, they are still using 08 data not gonna happen. All the indys are with us,not ozero, once again he ain’t gonna win.
Then there is a little thing called benghazi and the economy and all the other things zero has screwed up,its never ending with this clown and the voters know it.
he can kiss thenext four years goodbye.
Dick Morris? Are you kidding?
I have never predicted a Presidential election wrong. Ever.
I already gave a caveat on this one. It is entirely possible that Obama just isn’t able to turnout his voters. That is where the real hope is.
Polls this all over the map are meaningless. What isn’t meaningless is the whoring of the media for their black messiah. You don’t see the significance of this because you are obviously a person who keeps up on politics, which is why you are here. The vast majority of voters are not like you. They get their impressions from the mass media and the mass media is covering for Obama and suppressing all positive views of Romney (except for the first debate, even they couldn’t make that dog hunt).
The media narrative almost always wins. Reality has nothing to do with it. Polls have nothing to do with it.
Four years ago, Americans walked out of their homes and cast ballots en masse for a man who had never even held a full time job.. a man who had never run an organization of any kind. This was cult-like madness.
Perhaps the fever is past and the patient will survive. If so, why do 50% of voters still give this chimera a positive job rating when he has been such an unmitigated disaster?
Media narrative wins, it almost always does.
BTW, what is the temp at the Obama HQ? Just looked at your page and it screams PLANT! Get lost.
Pray for America
Yeah right. You come on here praising Clintons point man Dick Morris and I’m a ‘”plant.?”
I’d say you have the intelligence of a ‘plant.’
You bray like a donkey in any case.
If you are keeping score, in slightly less than four years President Obama has presided over an eleven-point decrease in his partys standing with the American people, 15 points if you include those voters who lean one way or the other. The Pew Research Center has posted party identification data going all the way back to 1929. The data series suggests that this deterioration in the Democrats standing with American voters is nearly unprecedented. The only comparable meltdown occurred during the tumultuous years of the Vietnam War and the birth of the Great Society under LBJ, when the Democrats also suffered an eleven-point loss relative to their Republican rivals. If you are wondering which president defied the odds and steered his party forward during his time in office, try Ronald Reagan. From 1981 to 1988 the Gippers principled conservative leadership whittled the Democrats initial 14-point edge down to a mere five points. To be sure, the most recent spate of national polls include more Republicans than did the surveys conducted earlier in October. Nevertheless, they still give more advantage to the Democrats than Gallups aggregate data suggest should be the case. ABC/Wall Street Journals most recent poll, for example, includes 34 percent Democrats and 30 percent Republicans, the Investors Business Daily poll sets the Democrats advantage at seven points (38 percent to 31 percent), and an Associated Press survey comes in two percentage points more Democratic than Republican. Correcting these polls so that there was a Republican edge in the sample of voters consistent with Gallups finding would hand Romney a lead between five to ten points. Imagine the run on smelling salts at Mother Jones and MSNBC if that were to happen?
You’re welcome. Happy to add my input. :)
There’s never any need to put any faith in any of the newspaper, network, or university conducted polls because they’re all liberals, and they want outcomes that reflect their bias. PEW Research for example, is a real stinker and the WAPo is laughable.
Gallop and Rasmussen are polling companies. They need and try to be accurate.
I’ve noticed the talking heads recently are talking about ethnic identification more than party ID. The assumption being that a larger non-white population relative to white favors Democrats. This of course is all part of the GOP = racists meme.
A lot of Hispanics and Asians are conservatives and their social structures tend to be more traditional in the way they approach family and religious matters. The pundits don’t let facts like that get in the way of their thinking.
The idea is to paint whites as a group to be feared and opposed. If people in groups were really as monolithic in outlook as these leftist bigots think, the world would be a scary place indeed.
I don’t following talking heads, and again, those questions are mostly asked by network, newspaper and university pollsters, with the intent of separating voters by “groups”, including ethnicity, religion, women, single women, married women, men, and now homosexual... the mean GOP of the white man’s party.
Why not include unemployed, content to live on welfare, disabled and truly needy?
They’ve conveniently omitted the Christian Right and Catholics in their polls and “I think” they’re coming out to vote in huge numbers against the infanticide Marxist, by voting for Romney/Ryan.
Well that seals it for me. I'm not voting Tuesday. The election is called on Sunday, and the caller is NEVER wrong.
Ever.
LOFL! Tell ya what slick, that's a lot of arrogance, condescension and hubris all in a few words.
Personally, I think I know where you're coming from...
Huffington Post...
Daily Kos...
democratic Underground...
Baracq and Michelle House of Fun...
Axelrod's Room of Minions...
Do me a favor? Get lost. Asshole.

“”Teleprompters””:.......
Saturday I attended the Romney rally in Dubuque.
I was there ‘early’!
I was only five rows from the front of the podium and was observing the preps before any speakers arrived.
The “First” thing I noted was there no teleprompters.
I pointed that out to my friend and we agreed that they may still be placed there since set up was still under way.
Warm up speakers came and went and “just before” Mitt took the stage, a binder was placed on the podium.
I watched closely during the entire speech, and Mitt “NEVER”
looked at the binder on the podium at all.
He delivered his message of truth directly from his heart.
He knew what he wanted to say and did that without any kind of ‘reminders’ or prompts.
His sincere delivery as a public speaker was very, very impressive!
I was not a Mitt supporter early on.
At this time in history, Mitt is the man that we need to heal our nations wounds and move all of us to higher ground.
We have become a nation of feuding parties each and every day.
It reminds one of the feuding Hatfields and McCoys. No one remembers the root cause of the feud, but all that can ever be remembered is that each side hates the others no matter what.
Somehow this needs to be overcome by positive leadership by the leader of the United States of America.
Mitt Romney can begin the process.
Mitt can reach out to all parties.
Focusing on the real and true needs of fellow citizens and lifting them up is what leadership is all about.
Leaders are servants to those to whom they are accountable.
We will never have a perfect leader, but good leaders should aspire to encourage and improve every citizen.
Selfishness is NOT a trait of good leaders or good citizens.
The ineptness of our current leader is beyond belief in any arena of leadership character traits and actions.
We have no choice but to begin the rebuilding process of this great country.
Patriots must vote to Restore America this Tuesday!
Both of these clowns should be kicked out of the party and tomorrow
Obama wins and I’m right there with you.
Test on Christie , to me, will be seeing him offer support to Romney before
Election Day. He can do that and manage the storm relief.
Did our part here in Fla alreadty with votes for R&R and straight Rep ticket.
Glad you are okay Pat, I was thinking of you. Comcast sucks. Get rid of them if you can! Just spoke to friends in LI, they assure me they can vote! Thank Goodness!
I agree with you EVA! Christie is a buffon but he was blackmailed, bottom line!
