FEMA's vaunted "lean forward" strategy that called for advanced staging of supplies for emergency distribution failed to live up to its billing in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
In fact, the agency appears to have been completely unprepared to distribute bottled water to Hurricane Sandy victims when the storm hit this Monday. In contrast to its stated policy, FEMA failed to have any meaningful supplies of bottled water -- or any other supplies, for that matter -- stored in nearby facilities as it had proclaimed it would on its website. This was the case despite several days advance warning of the impending storm.

I wonder if the Giants/Steelers game will proceed tomorrow; the new Giants Stadium would serve as a nice open-air Superdome (and certainly is well stocked).
“Lean Forward” = BOHICA
We need a graphic of the kid driving the school bus.
No water. No bullets. No food. No lights. No gas.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh can’t say anything bad about FEMA now..because its Messiah Obama is running things..therefore everything is rainbowsd and lollipops..people starving in the streets, nah its no biggie cause Obama’s in charge
Preppers’ PING!
Sandys lesson is right before your eyes just as it was with Katrina; You either prepare and stand on your own or you can depend on a bunch of self-serving politicos, third class bureaucratic and chance to provide your basic needs.
Me I dont want to be beholden to anyone for providing what is needed for me and mine. I certainly dont want to have to kiss some gubberment third class bureaucratic to try and coax some help from them, I dont want some jack booted thug herding me in line and telling me where to stand, sit, eat or sleep. And last but not least I dont want to be shut up in with a bunch of zombies and have to worry about not only trying to get basic necessities but having to fight to keep what I manage to get.
Its your choice you can prep or you can stand around on a bridge waiting for FEMA to bring you a bottle of water, a MRE, a warm blanket and a kiss for your boo-boo. Maybe while you stand there you will get a chance to a prop in some politicos photo op and even get your picture on the national news.
For those who are just starting or are old hands at prepping you may find my Preparedness Manual helpfull. You can download it at:

NOTE! THIS IS A FREE DOWNLOAD. I DO NOT MAKE ONE CENT OFF MY PREPAREDNESS MANUAL!
For those of you who havent started already its time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, gas cans, cooking stove/fuel, tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.
As the LDS say When the emergency is upon us the time for preparedness has past.
Or as the bible says: A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.
NIV Proverbs 22:3

Jeez, outsource it to Walmart and Home Depot, two companies who understand logistics. Oh, wait, the Eastern libs don’t let Walmart stores in their cities and towns.
Aren’t we going to get endless stories about how this administration has failed... about how people are miserable and suffering because this administration is against white people.
Makes you wonder what the “brilliant” Kanye West thinks about this. Barry must not like New Yawkers.
Even if everyone in NY-NJ just had a box of canned/dry goods, 10 gallons of drinking water and sleeping bags they’d been much better off.
Ohh the dilemma.
They don’t have a set of standard terms for standard emergency rations? Like a contract that is put out for bid once a year or every five years to provide quantities at a set predetermined price? And that contract is not with a number of vendors so that one or another can deliver?
We do this all the time in the real world. Some call it a “Call Off Contract”, an agreement to purchase at a fixed price for a period of time with delivery terms and quantity increments / limits and usually a sliding scale price that goes down the more that is bought.
Very simple really.
These feds are a bunch of damn fools.
Can’t they have a set pre-determined rate for things like dozers, cranes, loaders, debris removal per ton, water, cots, MRE or other food rations, fuel etc.?
Vendors “are currently being evaluated,”
Translation: FEMA is checking names of the vendors and their principals against the database of compaign contributions.
Now, when things continue to get worse for many people in this state, he can just say (in his best New Jersey accent): "Hey, I brought da president of da United States here to fix it. Whaddaya want from me?"
So true, but would you believe I got a thread with a crazy anti-prepper complaining about preppers wished Sandy to happen?
We have 2 60 gallon rain barrels attached to gutter downspouts on our home. I know it will need to be disinfected before use but we’ve got bleach and Pool Shock put back for that purpose.
They are installed in unobtrusively in the backyard behind a 6 foot privacy fence. At a gallon per person per day that’s almost 2 months worth. We picked them up at garage sales for less than 20 bucks total.
If a guest asks we tell them we water our plants with rain water.
Just a thought.
Poor Barry. His good luck has run out!
