New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was Mitt Romneys first choice as a running mate before Romney had a sudden change of heart and dumped him for Paul Ryan.
Christie was miffed by Romneys decision, particularly because he was led to believe in the weeks leading up to Ryans introduction that he would be joining Romney on the Republican presidential ticket, Politico reported, citing conversations with campaign insiders.

I can remember (can’t you) Christie looking right at the camera and saying he in no way was interested in the VP spot. I guess that is the same as BJ saying , I did not have sex with that woman!
Look at the guy. He's a shameless glutton. You don't get to be morbidly obese by exercising discipline and self-restraint.
And that’s probably why he was passed over. Romney is a good judge of character. Paul Ryan was the right man for the job.
>>Whatever else I may think of Romney, I dont think hes that stupid, and his Ryan pick seems to argue in favor of that opinion.<<
I agree.
Me neither and Ann Coulter is kooky for loving him so much. He is as big as a bathtub too! Yikes...some real emotional issues there.
True, and plenty of studies to support it. Morbidly obese younger persons, not caused by a medical condition are: angry, multiple emotional problems, self-indulgent, combative, untrustworthy, unhappy. Unfortunately, I used this study quite a while back and made my judgement of Christie.
If Chris Christie doesn't run we will nominate Romney, and we will lose. Ann Coulter, CPAC 2010
(Note the arrogant condescension she displayed, before she had to swallow that statement).
More from last night.

“Christie has an oversized sense of himself.”
For has heavy as he is, Christie is a little man. I understand that he love his state, but in the whole scheme of things, the welfare of America is paramountat this point in time. His love-fest with Obama was over the top and may have impacted a Romney win in a negative way.
He could’ve conveyed his appreciation to Obama in a sincere way and moved on. Romantic strolls on the beach and loving gazes aren’t necessary.
William Flax [Romney/Ryan]
Yeah...she is nutty as a fruitcake sometimes.
Actually, I don’t think my pointing out Ann’s foolishness will swing the election either way.
True. Too bad the percentage of people who recognize this is so low.
Mitt clearly made good call when he chose Ryan over Christie. Ryan and Romney make a good team, imo.
That’s a nice high quality picture of the pair. Details really stick out, like that one lone hair reaching out from Christie’s head to Obama, and the Islamic ring on Obama’s hand.
I hate both of those 2 idiots Christie and Obama, 2 corrupt, evil, lying creeps.
Christie is good for a few sound bites, when he talks back to his political opponents. Other than that...nah! Two northeast libs on the ticket would not have been helpful.
"this is foolish divisiveness fostered by the Dem media."
Exactly.
And the great uniter Obozo has already squandered his photo op by calling for "revenge" against his opponent...
Nonsense. He was just doing what he had to do. You saw what happened to Blanco when she refused to work with Bush. I don’t think it would have been good for Christie or Romney if he’d snubbed Obama.
