Two days after President Obama flew into storm-ravaged New Jersey on Wednesday for a 90 minute photo op with Governor Christie, parts of the state have descended into what one local resident calls "an apocalyptic vision." On Friday, in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, this New Jersey resident described the situation there:
New Jersey right now is experiencing an apocalyptic vision. Gas lines are a mile long. Hundreds are standing in line with gas cans. Fights are breaking out. Police and national guard have been called out. I've not had power or taken a shower since Sunday. Pray for us here.
FEMA reps are meeting with people in their residences to assess how recovery assistance can be provided to them.
While FEMA representatives had finally arrived on the ground by Friday, most of them appear to be focused on providing financial assistance to victims of Hurricane Sandy at some point in the future. There is no indication yet that any FEMA representatives on the ground are actually doing anything to aid in the distribution of food, supplies, gas, or restoring electricity.
On Wednesday, President Obama promised to deliver a far rosier outcome to New Jersey residents over the next several days. In fact, the President made a specific promise that he would make sure supplies were delivered, as CNN reported. Two days later, he's failed to deliver on that promise, though he has been able to campaign in key swing states across the country during that time:
Many people across the region are still in need of basic supplies. President Barack Obama visited a shelter Wednesday in the hard-hit town of Brigantine, New Jersey, where he said he met a woman with an 8-month-old who has run out of diapers and formula.

Yeah, the rejection of the non-union guys is really screwed up. If you’ve gotten to a point in life where all that kind of stuff matters....you really aren’t living anymore. As December comes around, and you wonder why no one much has done anything to bring life back into your town...you might want to consider moving to Alabama. We aren’t into union stuff....but we tend to be pretty gracious and open-hearted.
It sounded almost as bad as an Obama speech.
Looting was pretty widespread in Asbury night before last..Gas siphoning in the middle of the night is common. Generators being stolen while they are running. Some staties in Asbury today but not much. National Guard is in Belmar - there they will stay - no bad optics for Obama. You will likewise see no reports what is really happening down here.
Too funny. Obama wants to cut through red tape. The same red tape he loves to create everywhere else because it’s needed to “protect consumers”.
NJ go red? LOL, are you serious? I live in South Central NJ in Ocean Township about 1.5 miles from the water and although we were very lucky to escape any damage at all save a few (very few) trees down, we did lose power for about 2.5 days.
That said NJ is as blue as blue gets mostly because of the minorities and the inner city people who live from handout to handout.
Many shore towns are an utter disaster but the media is not covering this, just reshowing Obama from 3 days ago looking what they call presidential.
The short answer is no way no how does NJ go red, at least not this time.
Spent some time in the South a few years ago and was literally stunned at the polite, kind behaviour of everyone I came across. It was as if perfect strangers where delighted to see me and couldn’t do enough to help me with whatever I needed.
Of course living in the NY, NJ area my entire life I was initially suspicious of the behavior of these people. Where I come from many times when someone is smiling at you and shaking your hand with one hand they are picking your pocket with the other.

My boyfriend along with about 20 other lineman/groundman etc out of Petersburg just arrived in NJ and stopped at Cracker Barrel to eat.. when they went to pay for their tab...their waitress said it has been taken care of. Come to find out a couple who none of them had spoken to the whole time took it upon themselves to pay the WHOLE bill for these guys. They went to thank these people and ask them why they did it... and they said that was their way of saying thank you because they were one on the thousands of people Dominion was coming to help...Turns out they basically lost their house to the hurricane and were living in a hotel. They couldnt believe two people who just lost so much...wanted to give something to them. This is exactly why they do what they do, and now i understand. Thank you Dominion, you are helping these people more then you know”

New Jersey and New York are not part of New England. Just FYI.
I believe NJ was already tenuous for Obama because the economy of this state has been in the toilet for a decade; people voted for Governor Christie out of frustration, and he remains popular after the layoffs of thousands of public school teachers, cops, and other government workers. The storm won’t be blamed on Obama, but it will add to the general discontent of a dying state. Even the welfare reservations are showing little enthusiasm for Obama; as blacks are increasingly marginalized by the Hispanics imported to replace them they no longer believe in “hope and change”. Whites dealing with the same issue with Asians have little to cheer about either.

These people have not been enjoying the last four years; there is less freebies to pass around, and many of them have lost any police protection under the age of 28. The cities continue to bleed jobs and taxpayers, and the infrastructures now resemble Mogadishu.
I agree but the rabble addicted on government handouts have no pride or self respect and will take anything they can get and as long as they get something they will continue to vote for whomever gives it to them.
You’re right about them, but they’re getting a lot less nowadays (and fighting with imported illegals for even that). They’ve steadily lost ground economically and politically, and are not happy that they are living in increasingly Hispanic barrios.
Would be a lot cheaper for the gov to require emergency preparedness courses of all coastal residents. Apparently they were not prepared, some older folks not even knowing a storm was coming - very neighborly of their neighbors, huh?
Chances of NJ going “red” are slim, but it is not an outlandish possibility. It may be enhanced by the fact that most of the urban areas that serve as Democratic strongholds are among the hardest-hit parts of the state and might see low voter turnout.
This is just one of many reasons why this region was completely unprepared for the storm. If a blizzard came and dumped two feet of snow on Miami next week, I'm sure most people down there would be running around like they were suddenly dropped on Mars.
People knew this storm was coming for days.
They had every chance to prepare. If they didn’t, it’s not my responsibility.
For your information, “New England” consists of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
New York and New Jersey are NOT part of it. Please get your facts straight before you insult an entire region. Not all of us are lefties up here either. Sheeeesh.
A few years ago, I spent the week between Christmas and New Year’s in Myrtle Beach SC playing golf.
The weather down there that time of year can still be pretty nice but it was unusually damp and chilly that week and one night it started sleeting a bit. My husband and I being from up “north” (Maryland) didn’t think it was any big deal and went out to dinner but when we got back to the hotel, the gals behind the desk were freaking out. They were very concerned about the roads and getting home. We told them not to worry, that yes it was sleeting but the roads were mostly wet. The one gal then said, “Y’all don’t understand. We don’t know how to drive in ice and we don’t have any plows or salt trucks here”.
One of things we noticed were the number of Canadians on vacation down there and then we meet and played golf with some guys from Chicago. The temperatures when we teed off were just above freezing but eventually got up to the upper 50’s and the guys from Chicago loved it, they were wearing shorts, short sleeve shirts and no jackets.
