The title makes it out to look like Leo was the only celebrity there. I could really care less about them having a good time. I am sure that they will give to the Red Cross. I especially am just waiting for Sandra Bullock to give a million like she has every tragedy before and she does not brag about it one bit...she actually gives quietly but for some reason someone always has to tattle on her.

I am no DiCaprio fan, but as a conservative I find it hard to call him out on this. His partying doesn’t hurt anyone who is suffering (any more than anyone earning a high income harms those who make less). The fact that he is in New York, close by those who suffer shouldn’t matter. I am sure he could just fly to the Left Coast and party just as hard, if that would make people feel better.
There is suffering all over the world. Should no one have any fun until all suffering is alleviated? Most would say no.
There are, or ought to be, limits on gluttony and wasteful expenditures of money, but those should be self-imposed. Even if I had the money, you wouldn’t find me living it up that much— probably because I am 55 year old fart who likes it just fine at home with a $5 bottle of wine and a lovely wife....
All you can drink bubbly for only $10K?
They must really be using the cheapest champagne they can get.
The type you unscrew.
I always find things like this silly. At any given time somebody is suffering, and somebody else, probably geographically near by, is having a great time. To decide the later isn’t allowed because of the former is wrong, it’s another one of those attempts to make life fair by spreading guilt.
If this was a movie...
Staten Islanders would be the third class passengers on the
Titanic.
—locked in the bottom while the ship sinks—
and first class loads calmly into the lifeboats.
By the way- ...Bloomberg would be White Star line CEO Bruce Ismay.
Where was Obama on Wednesday?
BTW, OT, where’s Michelle?
