SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NEW JERSEY - The hurricane-ravaged east coast has been receiving north Alabama help, but crews from Huntsville Utilities learned they'll be doing work in Long Island, New York instead of in New Jersey.
Crews from Huntsville, as well as Decatur Utilities and Joe Wheeler out of Trinity headed up there this week, but Derrick Moore, one of the Decatur workers, said they were told by crews in New Jersey that they can't do any work there since they're not union employees.

The Socialist Workers' Party (aka, Democrats and the Unions overall), do NOT allow anyone to take their overtime, no matter how desperate the people are for help.
This is a way of life with Progressives, Davis-Bacon, etc.
Why don't they bring busloads of Illegals in to help, picking up hot wires that are down?

Hopefully you will appreciate some help from the South.

Then they deserve to wait in long lines for their gas. Has anyone figured whether it takes more time to fill up when “full service” is required, rather than the customer filling his own can, or tank? IOW, could the lines move faster if each customer filled his own, rather than waiting for the service station employee to come over and fill the tank?

I will. Not too sure about my fellow New Yorkers though. ;)

Union workers are scum. My inlaws are union people from Akron, OH. Even though they know that unions killed their city they still cling to unions. Morons on parade.

Screw NJ...Welcome to Long Island boys....you might be surprised how conservative we get as you go east....dang....Long Islander's even love NASCAR...
Seriously, the South Shore of the Island was devastated....I drove through the southern reaches of my hometown Amityville yesterday, it looked as if a bomb had gone off...there are many folks out here that could care less if you are union or not....and they will appreciate the assistance....and share whatever they have left with you...
Thanks.......

The east coasts unprecedented cost of repair and rebuilding estimate after Sandy is directly tied to Unions the non-union labor is half the cost...Labor Union chicanery to keep free/non-labor out will be interesting IF reporters will report it; IF they are allowed to...you can’t move a little table on a set or off a truck unless some Union says you can..........

Just WHO told the Alabama workers they had to sign up or leave?
And why wasn’t he knocked on his ass and then locked up?
The Union Mob only has that kind of power and control if you let them.
