We are Katrina says one desperate resident. Everyone cares about Manhattan. No one is looking out for us.
At a 12-unit apartment building at West 23rd near Mermaid Avenue in Coney Island, several tenants are huddled together in one room where human waste is spilling out of the toilet. They need help, and are at a loss explaining why assistance is getting to them faster.
"We have no food or water. Why isn't anyone helping us," asked tenant Aeising Cancel.
"We are scavenging for food like animals," said another tenant Jeffery Francis. "We are in a crisis and no one will help us. Look at us. We are misery. Everyone cares about Manhattan. No one is looking out for us. Nothing. We are Katrina."
At an apartment building at 3024 W 23rd the power is still out and residents are out of food.
"The food is gone. We are scrapping for food. One person found a sandwich and we split it four ways," said resident 58-year-old Albert Miller

Gulfport, MS had two black kids (14 and 16) kill an 84 year old white man with a baseball bat for 10 gallons of regular and a 3500 watt Coleman generator. I had a friend shoot at looters trying to break into my business... he was staying at his business due to his home being destroyed and we all stick together. I know how bad things can get.
I had to remove 4 meth heads in an LTD from my home property a few days after Katrina. It was only me and an MP4 AR-15. They were caught breaking into a house a few days later (about 15 miles from here) and two were shot dead and two are still in prison. If they had made any aggressive move towards me... I would have killed them. That is how prepared one must be and one must be sane and level headed because you may have to make life and death decisions.
It is too damned bad that most people in the affected area do not have the Second Amendment Right to defend themselves and their families... but the wolves are well armed and they are of evil in spirit and intent.
Mississippi Power has 70 power company trucks and crews in the area (some are working in Maryland now)... and we are sending Church groups up as soon as they are welcomed and can get into the affected area safely. We are all Americans... and ALL Americans need to see how ineffectual government is in the worst of times... and how evil some people are... and how much good and GOD flows from the vast majority of people. Whether it is in the North or South... Americans are Americans.

I think there should be an “Angie’s List” web site defining which advertisers/products purchase time slots during MSM reporting. There would be contact, email, phone numbers available for complaints and/or boycotting. Notifications would be great regarding specifically slanted reporting, who supported it and what product not to purchase.
My prayers are with you and your family.

Imagine if it had been an earthquake.
I think you know the answer.
So if the Romney bus (full of canned food and bottled water) were to pull up at the end of your street you would say, We dont want anything.
You guys better figure out something quickly or you are going to get really sick.

“Can you imagine the “water hammer” shock when you flush a blivey from 100 stories up when it meets the elbow on it’s way to the Hudson?”
That is called “releasing democrats to active duty”.

Be alert when you come to Maryland. Several out-of-state line crews have had their trucks stripped of those huge rolls of copper wire.
less than a week and they are getting desperate. how long before the riots start
Now that is funny right there!

Bunsen burners?
I own one, but I don’t normally promote them to preppers.
LOL...
Y'know, I do feel sorry for the elderly and the disabled. On the other hand, this is what family is, or used to be, for. I can't imagine leaving my 88 year old mother to fend for herself after a hurricane.
Of course, I can't imagine leaving her to live by herself in one of those places to begin with.
I am certain that they have been warned. Most of these guys made friends with the out of state crews after Katrina. Our guys also sleep in their trucks for the most part... until society returns to some structure. They are some pretty tough hombres.

Well aware of that, but it sure looks like Manhattan is getting most of the attention, resources wise. Looks like those on Staten Island and out along the beach areas are the redheaded step children in all of this. (Just my perspective from a couple miles outside of the city.)
