With the presidential election expected to hinge on Ohio, the states former secretary of state, GOP stalwart Kenneth Blackwell, is warning that a little-known change in the Buckeye States absentee-ballot process could lead to a nightmare scenario.
And that scenario could force the entire country to wait 10 days after the election to find out who will be the next president of the United States. Its a complicated situation, to say the least, but one that could have a far-reaching impact on the Nov. 6 election process.
For the first time in the key swing states history, Blackwell says, virtually all Ohio voters this year were mailed an application for an absentee ballot. In previous elections, most Ohio voters had to request an application for an absentee ballot to receive one.
The concern is that thousands of Ohio voters may complete the absentee-ballot application and receive an absentee ballot, but not bother to complete and mail in the ballot.
Anyone who is sent an absentee ballot including those who do not complete it and mail it in and later shows up at the polls on Election Day to cast their ballot in person will be instructed to instead complete a provisional ballot.
And under Ohio election law, provisional ballots cannot be opened until 10 days after an election.
I would just say that this is a potential nightmare-in-waiting, says Blackwell.

I meant to say - many of us didn’t fill out or request an absentee ballot. We’ve always had provisional ballots - yes, even in ‘08 and it didn’t make much difference. I don’t know why this article says this is a new thing - because it isn’t.
According to the article, the only thing new is the mailing of the application to every voter in the state.
We’ll get Ohio, but it if it comes later, it’s not going to matter.
This is going to be an early call for Romney on election night at about 12:00 a.m. EST, and my wife and I will have a pie and champagne on ice, ready to celebrate. Mark my words...
Okay, you replied to me and mentioned pie. If it has Strawberry or Rhubarb in it and you hear a tapping at your door at 12 a.m. EST, it is not a prowler, it is Armitage and he is hungry. So either toss me a slice or give me a warning shot before you aim the second time. :)
Husted the Ohio (R) SoS was on CNBC this morning and said that mail in voters can demand that their ballot receipt be verified at their precinct.
I’d recommend that if any Ohio folks are nervous about the postal service, go ahead and take this step.
It boggles my mind that we have taken something that should be so simple: paper ballot, two names, check one, tally. and turned it into the most complicated and fraud vulnerable thing imaginable....
Ha, ha, ha.
If you're in California, you're welcome to the party. :-)
Is voter fraud being committed in Ohio? - Conservative News
I’m no longer surprised, but it is disgusting to the core.

Alright guys, I’m counting on your positive input. This ol’ voter is getting anxious. These days I don’t put anything past anybody! Rat b@stards!
Gotta disagree.
The only likely's here are NC, FL and WI (I say WI because I can't believe that state went thru all that crap over Walker only to hand themselves over to the Marxists).
VA and CO are looking good, but not in the bag, at all.
PA... I'll believe when I see it. We have a better shot at OH than IA, NH, or MI. My humble opinion.
