...where were such prognostications when the polls apparently chiseled Obama’s reelection in stone?
Article is spot on.
I said at the time that his presidency was effectively over, because he revealed something that everyone in his campaign and the mainstream media had tried to shield from public view ... that he's nothing more than a surly, black malcontent with a teleprompter and an expensive suit.
White people have been voting against him and his ilk in this country ever since.
I will not be celebrating until I see the guy physically leave the WH for good. There is something in me that cautions, given the winds pushing Zero, that it ain’t over till it over.
Rush, Jan. 2009: “I hope he fails.” Unfortunately, He succeeded too much and people instantly began to repent. But we’re still in that process. We’ll omelette it Tues.
It’s all over but the Obama Riots.
They will be epic!
Excellent piece, C. Edmund!
The author has been predicting landslide for some time. Others on this forum have been also. I think they’re right.
If they are right, then this will be a significant emotional event for liberals. Perhaps an historical event, if we play our cards right.
So let’s get on to how we can KEEP THEM DOWN, once they’re done licking their wounds.
The left must rationalize their defeat. They must not allow the REASON for their defeat to reflect on liberalism itself. The CANDIDATE must be blamed. Or the CAMPAIGN. Not the policies.
We have an opportunity here to deal a lethal blow to the establishment media, and liberalism itself. The Democratic Party, if we play our cards right, shouldn’t survive what’s going to hit them smack in the face on Nov 6.
We must seize the moral high ground-it’s there for the taking. Liberalism has proven to be IMMORAL. We must say with pride that we are conservatives BECAUSE we care about the poor and the downtrodden. This is a teaching moment. We cannot allow them to blame their defeat on anything but the fact that their ideology is WRONG.
Liberalism has proven to be IMMORAL. And that’s just the fiscal policy.
It should be easy to prove that liberalism cares only about POWER. We now have a history to observe, Barack Obama’s presidency is a GIFT to conservative thought. The paradigm CAN change. We cannot let them blame it on anything but the WAY THEY THINK. Not Obama, not Reid and Pelosi, IT’S THE IDEOLOGY STUPID.
Schadenfraude is ok, but ridicule would be better. We give them no quarter, we call a spade a spade, especially at the water cooler at work. Especially at the neighborhood bar. Ostracism is good too. They need to feel our disdain for them.
They tried to turn us into CUBA.
This is the time to pull the weeds out by the roots. Romney’s not going to do it. We have to do it.
Liberalism has proven to be IMMORAL. In four short years.
Ann Coulter has given us a start. We must know our history as relates to race relations. We have a lot to be proud of, and proud we must be. The moral high ground is there for us to seize.
A battle will have been won Nov 6. The war can be won. Don’t let them blame it on anything but the fact that their policies harm the poor and expose us to danger. We must make the MORAL CASE for capitalism, and the moral case for American exceptionalism.
We’re all Paul Ryan now.
This is why Christie is floating the trial balloon...the GOP nom (Romney | Perry | Palin | Christie) is the next President; Bobo doesn't want the job without a compliant Congress, he saw the Writing on the Wall in 2010; I've been saying this for 16 months now and FReepers are starting to get their mind around the inevitability.
You won’t read a more cogent analysis that this article.
I’m having it laminated.
My only comment is that I perceive possibly an underestimation of the ignorance of today's voting electorate (see Exhibit A: 2012 GOP primary). As close as this race still is, he could have been easily re-elected. Your inevitability point is spot on with whether he would succeed or not, but he might have still been re-elected, in spite of his (and socialism) being a total loser.
I think of two events (not so recent) as being significantly "causal" - 1) excommunicated HHS sec Sebelius' fiat requiring religious insitutions to fund abortion, contraception and sterilizations; and 2) the performance of candidate 0bama in the first debate.
Without these events, I shudder to think of what the results might have been from this government-school 'educated' electorate.
